i <br />I <br />The following petitions for improved lighting were referred to <br />uperintendent Ira Hunsberger for investigation and report: <br />Street light at the corner of Iowa Street and West Jefferson <br />Street light to light the alley, from Spruce to Walnut(dead end) <br />Street light at the corner of Kenmore and West Colfax Avenue <br />Street light in the vicinity of West Jefferson <br />OLICE DEPARTMENT: <br />The department's urgent need for four (4) sirens and two (2) spotlites <br />o replace wornout- equipment of this type was explained to the Board by <br />aptain M. J. Voelkel. The Board approved the purchase of the specified <br />quipment and authorized the Clerk to release Purchase Order BW3379 <br />ccordingly. <br />Captain Voelkel also brought to the attention of the Board, the <br />olice Department's urgent need for certain types of ammunition to cost <br />n'excess of $400.00, and stating that funds available for such purchase <br />ust come from other than General Supplies. In view of the existing <br />mergency, the Board authorized the Clerk to proceed with the purchase, <br />n6 umbering funds from Appropriation P- 334 to pay for this supply of <br />mmunition. <br />The Police Department application of Stanley A. Bizczynski was <br />xamined and ordered placed on file. <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, the <br />eeing was adjourned at 11 :05 A. All members were present . Minutes of <br />the previous meeting were read and approved. Salary claims, in the <br />total amount of "1156,007.33, were approved.
