Minutes of the <br />previous meeting were read and approved. Hunsberger for investigation and report. <br />IRE DEPARTMENT: <br />A letter from the Firemen's Pension Fund, under date of May 27th, <br />n regard to the employing of Attorney i';i. Edward Doran to represent the <br />rustees of the Pension Fund in the mandamus proceedings of Glenn A. Hess, <br />nd addressed to the Board for their information, was read and ordered <br />iled. <br />Chief Richard J. Duck, being present, reported upon the failure of <br />iceman Claude Borowski to report for duty, on a recent occasion, and the <br />isciplinary action taken by the Chief, penalizing Fireman Borowski to <br />he extent of loss of one week of vacation time for the current year. <br />he penalty,assessed by the Chief, met with the approval of the Board. <br />The quotation of the Kitchen Mart, addressed to Chief Duck, for the <br />refinishing of the kitchen at Central Fire Station for the sum of $179.00, <br />et with the Boardts approval and.the Clerk was directed to issue purchase <br />order accordingly. <br />The quotation, submitted by L. 0. Gates Chevrolet Corporation, of <br />'146.18 for the repair of 1951 Chevrolet of Fred Dupken, 1236 S. Olive <br />treet, damaged in accident involving Fire Department equipment, and <br />hick has been conceded to be the fault of the operator of the Fire <br />epartment equipment, was acceptable to the Board, and the Clerk was <br />irected to notify the L. 0. Gates Corporation to proceed with these <br />epairs. The Board requested, from Fire Chief, Richard J. Duck, a <br />ritten report by the driver, to attach to the L. 0. Gates claim, <br />pon completion of this repair work, for added substantiation and in- <br />ormation of the State Board of Accounts auditors. <br />i' <br />
