Minutes of the <br />previous meeting were read and approved. Duck, being present, placed in the hands of the <br />chairman of the Board, a letter from the Firemen's Pension Fund, under, <br />date of April 29, 1953, informing the Board that the application of Glenn <br />A. Hess has been rejected, due to applicant being over the age limit. <br />This letter also informs the Board that disability pensions have been <br />granted by the Firemen's Pension Fund, in line with the recommendations <br />of the Fundts medical examiner, Dr. R. W. Spenner, and their status as <br />pensioners is to be effective May 16, 1953, for the following three men: <br />Fireman George Roessler <br />Fireman Edward Niezgodski <br />Fire Alarm Operator James McKnight. <br />The retirement of these men was accordingly approved and ordered by <br />the Board. <br />The Fire Chief then, brought to the attention of the Board, the <br />departmentts need for a..pare radio sending and .receiving set. The Clerk <br />was directed to purchase the required equipment... <br />The Fire Department application of Richard V. Strychalski was <br />examined by the Board and ordered placed on file. <br />Reports from Engine Companies Nos. 11, 12, and 21, covering runs <br />beyond the city limits during the month of April, were examined and ordered <br />filed. <br />1 <br />1 <br />
