POLICE DEPARTMENT: <br />Chief of Police,Richard J. Gillen, being present, delivered to the <br />Board the written application for retirement of Officer James Perry, <br />pon the recommendation of the Chief, Officer Perry's application was <br />ccepted by the Board, effective as of April 17, 1953, and he is granted <br />erminal leave vacation to and including May 2, 1953• <br />Application for the appointment of Louis F. Tomschock, employee of <br />ae Torrington Company, as a Special Police officer in and for the City <br />South Bend, was next examined and approved by the Board. <br />IRE DEPARTMENT: <br />The -Fire Department application of Fred Michalos was examined and <br />ordered placed on file. <br />aLEC TRICAL DEPARTMENT: <br />The recommendation of Supt. Hunsberger that 4000 lumen lights <br />)e installed at the following locations met with the approval of the <br />3oard : <br />Alley intersection on Lawrence Street, between <br />Corby Boulevard and Howard Street. <br />Southeast corner Sheridan and Western Avenue. <br />Southeast corner Studebaker and Liston Street. <br />The recommendations of Supt. Hunsberger for the installation of <br />2500 lumen lights at 112 North Studebaker Street and at the alley <br />intersection in the rear of St. Paults Memorial Methodist Church, <br />,were approved by the Board. <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, the <br />eting was adjourned at 11 :40 A.
