D
S
MEMO
TO: Mr. Edward Bradley, President, Property Management
Grubb & Ellis / Cressy & Everett
DATE: October 22, 2007
FROM: Michele Kastner, Events Coordinator
Downtown South Bend, Inc.
127 S. Michigan St., South Bend, IN 46601
P: 574.282.1110
C: 574.532.6795
mka stn er (a-)-downtown south bend. corn
RE: 140 S. Michigan St., South Bend, IN
Request for usage as Santa's Workshop
Since 2003 Downtown South Bend, Inc. has hosted Santa House during the
month of December. This year's Santa's House will run from December 8
through December 24, 2007 Santa's House will be located at 100 S. Michigan
St., near the South Bend Chocolate Cafe and the College Football Hall of Fame,
just north of the 140 S. Michigan St. storefront you currently have listed. Would it
be possible for DTSB to use the empty 140 S. Michigan St. property to host a
Santa's Workshop throughout the month of December?
The workshop has traditionally been open on the weekends. It houses the Ivy
Tech gingerbread house display, a children's cookie /ornament decorating
activity, a stop on the Trolley route, many other children's activities and most
importantly a place for children and their families to escape inclement weather
conditions while waiting to see Santa. It will also serve as DTSB's Santa's
House headquarters, housing collateral materials and miscellaneous supplies.
Would it also be possible to have access to electric, water and a restroom?
We appreciate your assistance with this request and if you have or need more
information please let me know. DTSB would be happy to add Grubb & Ellis/
Cressy & Everett to our certificate of insurance if this is needed. Thank you for
your interest and I look forward to talking with you further.
