SPECIAL MEETING SEPTEMBER 22 2010 8Z <br />The Board of Public Safety met in a Special Meeting at 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 22, <br />2010 with Board President Juanita Dempsey and Board Members Patrick D. Cottrell, and Laura <br />Vasquez present. Board Members Bruce BonDurant and Eddie Miller were absent. Also present were <br />Fire Chief Howard Buchanon, Police Chief Darryl Boykins, and Board Attorney Thomas Bodnar. <br />The meeting was held in the Board of Public Works Meeting Room, 13th Floor County City <br />Building, South Bend, Indiana. <br />FIRE DEPARTMENT <br />APPROVE FINDINGS OF FACT - CHARGE 2010 -05 — JORDAN JOSTES <br />In a Hearing on September 2, 2010, of Charge 2010 -05, the Board of Public Safety found that for his <br />actions, Firefighter Jordan Jostes shall be terminated from his position as a South Bend Firefighter, <br />effective immediately. Upon a motion by Mr. Cottrell, seconded by Ms. Vasquez and carried, the <br />Findings of Fact were approved and signed. <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />APPROVE HEARING DATE - CHARGES 2010 -06 — ANTHONY SCOTT <br />Attorney Thomas Bodnar stated charges had been filed and served on Corporal Anthony Scott, and <br />an e- mailed letter was received by the Clerk on September 21, 2010, from Mr. Scott, requesting a <br />Hearing. Mr. Bodnar stated that Special Counsel Joseph Simeri gave him two dates he would be <br />available for the Hearing; October 14 and October 20, 2010. The Board agreed to meet on October <br />20, 2010 at 9:00 a.m. Upon a motion by Mr. Cottrell, seconded by Ms. Vasquez and carried, the <br />Hearing was set for October 20, 2010 at 9:00 a.m. in the Common Council Chambers. <br />ADJOURNMENT <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, President Dempsey declared the meeting <br />adjourned at 8:08 a.m. <br />BOARD OF PUBLIC SAFETY <br />a <br />uanita Dempsey, President,' <br />t <br />Patrick D.
