REGULAR MEETING APRIL 12, 2010 98 THE ROBERT HENRY CORPORATION 404 South Frances Street South Bend, Indiana 46628 Quotation was submitted by Mr. Stephen Henry QUOTATION: $225,000.00 Mr. Gilot stated there is a legal issue with these quotes coming in at the bid threshold. He noted they had hoped the quotes would be under the $150,000.00 limitation and the Mayor and Legal Department gave permission to quote based on that thought. Board Attorney, Cheryl Greene, noted that State law guidelines allow for quoting up to $150,000.00 and these guidelines were followed on this project in the hopes that they would come in under this threshold. Mr. Gilot stated these quotes would have to be rejected and the project would have to be bid now. Mr. Bill Schalliol, Community and Economic Development, requested to review the quotes to see where the discrepancy came in. Upon a motion made by Mr. Littrell, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the above Quotations were referred to Community and Economic Development and their consultant far review. OPENING OF QUOTATIONS - COVELESKI S'TADNM GUTTER IMPROVEMENTS - PROJECT NO. 110-008E (SBCDA TIFI Mr. Gilot advised that this was the date set for the receiving and opening of sealed Quotations for the above referenced project. The following Quotations were opened and read: DUDECK ROOFING__& SHEET METAL, INC. 1634 Franklin Street South Bend, Indiana 46613 Quotation was submitted by Ms. Catherine Dudeck QUOTATION: $143,900.00 MIDLAND ENGINEERING 52369 S.R. 933 North South Bend, Indiana 46601 Quotation was submitted by Mr. Frederick Ilelmen QUOTATION: $102,500.00 Upon a motion made by Mr. Littrell, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the above Quotations were referred to Community and Economic Development and their consultant for review and recommendation. After reviewing those quotations, Mr. Rob Nichols, Engineering, recommended that the Board award the contract to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, Midland Engineering Company, Inc.., in the amount of $102,500.00. Therefore, Mr. Inks made a motion that the recommendation be accepted, and the quotation be awarded as outlined above. Mr. Littrell seconded the motion, which carried.
