REGULAR MEETING APRIL 12, 2010 105 <br />WHEREAS, it has been determined by the Board of Public Works that the following property <br />is unfit for the purpose for which it was intended and is no longer needed by the City of South <br />Bend: <br />WATER METERS <br />WHEREAS, Indiana Code 5-22-22 permits and establishes procedure for disposal of <br />personal property which is unfit for the purpose for which it was intended and which is no longer <br />needed by the City. <br />WHEREAS, the City of South Bend Water Works Division will change between 600 and <br />800 water meters per month to upgraded models allowing for electronic meters, which will <br />results in a cost savings far the City. <br />WHEREAS, the City of South Bend water Works Division will be able to exchange the <br />old water meters with a scrap metal dealer for payment to the City, which is currently set at <br />$0.65 per pound, totaling approximately $2,600.00 per month. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Public Works of the City of <br />South Bend that the items listed above are no longer needed by the City and/or are unfit for the <br />purpose for which they were intended and have an estimated combined value of less than five <br />thousand dollars ($5,000.00). <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said items may be transferred or sold at public <br />auction or private sale, without advertising. However, if the property is deemed worthless, such <br />may be demolished or junked. <br />ADOPTED this 12th day of April, 2010, <br />CITY OF SOUTH BEND <br />BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />s/Gary Gilot <br />s/Donald Inks <br />s/ Carl Limell <br />ATTEST: <br />s/Linda Martin, Clerk <br />ADOPT RESOLUTION NO. 20-2010 - A RESOLUTION OF THE SOUTH BEND BOARD <br />OF PUBLIC WORKS CONCERNING RECONCILIATION OF THE NAVILINE FIXED <br />ASSETS SYSTEM TO THE COMPREHENSIVE ANNUAL FINANCIAL REPORT <br />ASSOCIATED WITH THE FIXED ASSET PROJECT <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Inks, seconded by Mr. Littrell and carried, the following Resolution <br />was adopted by the Board of Public Works: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 20-2010 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />FOR THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND INDIANA <br />CONCERNING RECONCILATION OF THE NAVILINE FIXED ASSETS SYSTEM TO THE <br />COMPREHENSIVE ANNUAL FINANCIAL REPORT <br />ASSOCIATED WITH THE FIXED ASSET PROJECT <br />WHEREAS, on October ] 8, 2001 the Board of Public Works ("Board") adopted its <br />Resolution No. 61-2001 establishing various accounting and inventory policies and practices; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the policy adopted by the Board pursuant to Resolution No. 61-2001 <br />includes the requirement of a periodic inventory of all fixed, movable and infrastructure assets, <br />which inventory must be reconciled to the inventory maintained by the City Controller, and any <br />discrepancies to be reported to the City Controller; and <br />
