<br /> <br />X.Comments by the Development Director <br /> <br />1. Mr. Payton related that the Park Foundation board recently met for the first time. He <br />thanked Ms. O’Connor and Mr. Moyers for supplying information for the board on our <br />programs and history. <br />During future meetings, the bylaws, mission statement and other necessary documents will <br />be formulated. <br />The Executive Director of the Fort Wayne Park Department will be coming in September <br />to speak to the Park Foundation board. <br />The next meeting will be held August 25. <br />2. The Superintendent’s Golf Outing had 40 teams participate. Feedback has been <br />positive. He thanked the Skillet and Jimmy Johns for their contribution of food. No one <br />went away hungry. <br /> <br />Major sponsors were Selge Construction, Walsh & Kelly, Herceg, Gibson Insurance, <br />Crowe Horwath, Lawson Fisher, United Beverage, Pepsi Corp, and Gates Auto. <br />He thanked Mr. Bill Lewis, of the Notre Dame Community Relations Department, for <br />addressing the participants and updating them on the Notre Dame football program. <br /> <br /> <br />XI.Comments by Maintenance Superintendent <br /> <br />1. Mr. Mike Dyszkiewicz expressed thanks for the ”Project Hire” employees that helped <br />keep his mowing crews ahead of the growing grass in July. <br />2. He commended Jim Byers and his crew for the work they have done at the Belleville <br />Softball complex. One of the diamonds had settled and they removed the settling soil, <br />leveled it and resodded the field. <br />3. A new playground is being installed at Pinhook Park. <br />4. There is a lot of graffiti in parks. Pulaski and Marshall parks have been hit hardest. <br />5. Southgate Church is organizing a volunteer effort in the parks in the near future. <br /> <br /> <br />XII.There being no more business to come before the Board the meeting adjourned at <br />5:17 p.m. <br /> <br />The next regular meeting will be held September 20, 2010 at 4:00 p.m. in the Boardroom of the <br />O’Brien Administration Center. <br /> <br />Respectfully Submitted, <br /> <br />William Carleton <br />Executive Secretary <br /> - - 4 - - <br /> <br /> <br />
