BgnDurant, Member <br />asquez, Member <br />Eddie Miller, ember <br />REGULAR MEETING AUGUST 25, . 2010 <br />The Board of Public Safety met in the regular meeting at 9:15 a.m, on Wednesday, August 25, 2010, <br />with Board President Juanita Dempsey, and Board Members Bruce J. BonDurant, Patrick D. Cottrell, <br />and Eddie Miller present. Also present were Police Chief Darryl Boykins, Fire Chief Howard <br />Buchanon and Board Attorney Thomas Bodnar. <br />The meeting was held in the Common Council Chambers, 4th Floor, County City Building, South <br />Bend, Indiana. <br />ACCEPT MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING <br />President Dempsey stated that unless there were any objections, the Minutes of the August 4, 2010 <br />meeting and the Special Meeting of August 18, 2010 would be accepted as presented. <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />POLICE SELECTION PANEL <br />Upon a motion by Mr. Cottrell, seconded by Mr. BonDurant and carried, the Police Selection Panel <br />approved the recommendation of Police Chief Boykins and the recommendation of the Police <br />Selection Panel, that Jason Michael Borrell, Nicholas Keith Pogotis, and Gregory Russell Howard be <br />accepted for employment as probationary police officers with the South Bend Police Department for <br />a probationary period of one {1} year, beginning August 25, 2010. <br />SWEARING IN OF POLICE OFFICER <br />- Jason Michael Borrell <br />- Nicholas Keith Pogotis <br />- Gregory Russell Howard <br />Mr. John Voorde, City Clerk, was present and administered the Oath of Office for the swearing in of <br />the above officers. Chief Boykins joined the Board in congratulating the newly sworn in officers and <br />wishing them well in their endeavors with the South Bend Police Department. <br />
