South Bend Redevelopment Commission <br />Special Meeting –August 27, 2010 <br /> <br />6. NEW BUSINESS (CONT.) <br /> <br />D. Airport Economic Development Area <br /> <br />(1) continued… <br /> <br />responded that they had intended to construct <br />a new building, but instead acquired the <br />building on the corner and rehabbed it to be <br />their Restore, storage, and training area. <br /> <br />CT <br />Upon a motion by Mr. Downes, seconded by <br />OMMISSION APPROVED THE ERMINATION OF <br />CR412E. <br />OVENANTS AND ESTRICTIONS FOR <br />Ms. King and unanimously carried, the <br />SS <br />AMPLE TREET <br />Commission approved the Termination of <br />Covenants and Restrictions for 412 E. <br />Sample Street. <br /> <br /> <br />(2) Proposal for professional services related <br />to the former EMI site (Refurbishment <br />cost assessment) <br /> <br />Mr. Schalliol noted that the staff is in the <br />process of finalizing purchase of the EMI <br />building at 2020 S. Main Street. There are <br />several parties interested in reusing the <br />building, particularly the skeleton. Also, <br />there are some environmental issues at the <br />site which must be remediated. On <br />September 13, the Board of Works will take <br />demolition bids. This proposal from <br />Wightman Petrie will provide a rehab <br />estimate for comparison to the demolition <br />costs with which staff can make a decision <br />about what to do with the building. The <br />amount of the proposal is $2,000. <br /> <br />C <br />Upon a motion by Mr. Downes, seconded by <br />OMMISSION ACCEPTED THE PROPOSAL FROM <br />WP <br />IGHTMAN ETRIE FOR THE SCOPE OF SERVICES <br />Ms. King and unanimously carried, the <br /> <br />AND FEE PROPOSED <br />Commission accepted the proposal from <br />Wightman Petrie for the scope of services <br />and fee proposed. <br /> <br /> 13 <br /> <br />
