Marti , Cler <br />JUNE 23, 2010 49 <br />BOARD OF PUBLIC SAFETY <br />Juanita Dempsey, President <br />Patrick .Cottrell, em er <br />Bruce J. <br />e�,Laura Vasquez, Member <br />Eddie Miller, Membe <br />REGULAR MEETING JUNE 23, 2010 <br />The Board of Public Safety met in the regular meeting at 9:18 a.m. on Wednesday, June 23, 2010, <br />with President Juanita Dempsey, and Board Members Patrick D. Cottrell, Bruce BonDurant, Laura <br />Vasquez, and Eddie Miller present. Also present were Police Chief Darryl Boykins, Fire Chief <br />Howard Buchanon and Board Attorney Thomas Bodnar. <br />The meeting was held in the Board of Public Works Meeting Room, 13th Floor County City <br />Building, South Bend, Indiana. <br />APPROVE MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETINGS <br />President Dempsey advised that if there were no objections by members of the Board, the minutes <br />of the Public Agenda Session, Executive Session, and Regular meetings of the Board held on June 2, <br />2010, would be accepted with the noted change. There being no fisther discussion, the minutes were <br />accepted. <br />ADOPT RESOLUTION NO. 40 -2010 — A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC SAFETY OF <br />THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND INDIANA ADOPTING A WRITTEN FISCAL PLAN AND <br />ESTABLISHING A POLICY FOR THE PROVISION OF SERVICES TO AN ANNEXATION AREA IN <br />CENTER TOWNSHIP (BERKHEISER ANNEXATION AREA <br />Mr. Jeff Vitton, Community and Economic Development, presented the Board members with a map <br />outlining the proposed annexation area. He noted the area is small, 115 of an acre, and includes only <br />one home. The owners are requesting the annexation to hook up to City sewer and water. Mr. Vitton <br />stated the Police and Fire Department services would not be increased or impacted. Mr. Vitton noted <br />that they are incorporating income tax now for comparison of City and County levies and prorating <br />based on the comparison results. He noted the rates were formally based solely on property taxes. <br />President Dempsey requested for future annexation requests, the Board receive these comparisons to <br />review and for their records. Upon a motion made by Mr. Cottrell, seconded by Mr. BonDurant and <br />carried, the following Resolution was adopted by the Board of Public Works: <br />
