4.~? ~~i <br />REGULAR MEETING AUGUST 3, 2005 <br />South Bend on January 5, 2005. The Board wished Corporal Ciesiolka much success in his future <br />endeavors. Upon a motion made by Mr. Taylor, seconded by Mr. Alfred and carried, the resignation <br />-was accepted and approved. <br />ACCEPT AND APPROVE RESIGNATION - ERIC RHYMER <br />President Rodriguez advised that the Board is in receipt of a letter of resignation from Sergeant Eric <br />'~ Rhymer, in which he tenders his resignation from the South Bend Police Department, effective July <br />29, 2005. Chief Thomas Fautz stated that Sergeant Rhymer was appointed to the South Bend on <br />February 22, 1989. The Board wished Sergeant Rhymer much success in his future .endeavors. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Dempsey, seconded by Mr. Alford and carried, the resignation was <br />accepted and approved. <br />ACCEPT AND APPROVE VOLUNTARY DEMOTION -MICHAEL CRITCHLOW <br />President Rodriguez advised that the Board is in receipt of a letter from Chief Thomas Fautz, <br />requesting that the Board grant a voluntary demotion to Michael Critchlow to the rank of Sergeant. <br />Michael Critchlow requested this demotion for personal reasons and waived his right to a hearing. <br />Chief Fautz recommends that the Board grant this request with the effective date of August 3, 2005. <br />,Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Alfred, seconded by Mr. Taylor and carried, the request was <br />approved. <br />APPROVAL OF REOUEST FOR SECOND EXTENDED MEDICAL LEAVE -SERGEANT <br />RONALD NOWICKI <br />Chief Thomas Fautz requested that the Board grant Sergeant Ronald Nowicki a second paid, <br />extended medical leave of approximately forty-two (42) more calendar days from August 8, 2005 to <br />September 19, 2005. Upon a motion made by Mr. Alford, seconded by Ms. Dempsey and carried, <br />the request was approved. <br />' APPROVAL OF REQUEST FOR EXTENDED MEDICAL LEAVE -CORPORAL ANTHONY <br />SCOTT <br />Chief Thomas Fautz requested that the Board grant Corporal Anthony Scott a paid, extended medical <br />leave of approximately forty-two (42) more calendar days from August 1, 2005 to September 12, <br />2005. Upon a motion made by Ms. Dempsey, seconded by Mr. Taylor and carried, the request was <br />approved. <br />APPROVE DUTY MANUAL CHANGES -SECTION 468.02 -GUN BELT <br />In a letter to the Board, Chief Thomas Fautz requested approval of changes to Section 468.02, Gun <br />Belt, to the South Bend Police Duty Manual. Upon a motion made by Mr. Taylor, seconded by Mr. <br />Alford and carried, the Duty Manual changes were accepted and approved. <br />FILING OF MONTHLY STATISTICAL ANALYSIS REPORT -JUNE 2005 <br />President Rodriguez indicated that unless there were questions or objections by members of the <br />Board, the statistical report for the month of June 2005 as submitted by the Police Department, <br />would be accepted for filing.
