<br />POLICE DEPARTMENT
<br />APPROVE POLICE SELECTION PANEL
<br />Chief Thomas Fautz recommended that Jeffrey Craig Cummins, Joshua Alan Morgan, David John
<br />Young, Jose Luis Capeles, Jr., Jeremy Scott Gadsby, Michael Edwin Norby, Andrew James Fry, and
<br />Timothy Lewis Wiley be accepted for employment on a probationary basis with the South Bend
<br />Police Department effective August 3, 2005. They have met the requirements of the application
<br />process of the South Bend Police Department. They will be attending the Indiana Law Enforcement
<br />Academy in Plainfield, Indiana from August 15, 2005 through November 23, 2005. Upon a motion
<br />made by President Rodriguez, seconded by Mr. Taylor and carried, the recommendation was
<br />approved.

<br />Mr. John Voorde, City Clerk, was present, and administered the Oath of Office to the above listed
<br />individuals. The Board wished them well in their endeavors with the South Bend Police Department.
<br />Upon a motion made by Ms. Dempsy, seconded by Mr. Taylor and carried, the swearing in of
<br />officers was approved.
<br />ACCEPT AND APPROVE PROMOTION -HAVEN FREEMAN ,
<br />In a letter to the Board, Chief Thomas Fautz requested that Mr. Haven Freeman be promoted from
<br />the rank of Patrolman to the rank of Corporal effective August 7, 2005. He has successfully
<br />completed three (3) years of service with the South Bend Police Department. Upon a motion made
<br />by Mr. Alford, seconded by Ms. Dempsey and carried, the promotion was accepted and approved.
<br />ACCEPT AND APPROVE PROMOTION -KELLY WAITE
<br />In a letter to the Board, Chief Thomas Fautz requested that Mr. Kelly Waite be promoted from the
<br />rank of Patrolman to the rank of Corporal effective August 7, 2005. She has successfully completed
<br />three (3) years of service with the South Bend Police Department. Upon a motion made by Mr.
<br />,Alford, seconded by Ms. Dempsey'and carried, the promotion was accepted and approved.
<br />APPROVE SPECIAL POLICE COMMISSION - MI~HAEL SEATHERSON
<br />In a letter to the Board, Police Chief Thomas Fautz recommended that a Special Police Commission
<br />be issued on August 3, 2005, until revoked, for Mr. Michael Seatherson, for Parking Properties. This
<br />Commission is issued for the on-street patrol parking enforcement personnel and does not include
<br />the carrying of a weapon or the powers of arrest. Mr. Seatherson has met the Commission
<br />requirements of the South Bend Police Department. Upon a motion made by Mr. Taylor, seconded
<br />by Mr. Alford and carried, the Special Police Commission was approved.
<br />APPROVE SPECIAL POLICE COMMISSION -WILLIAM ARMSTRONG
<br />In a letter to the Board, Police Chief Thomas Fautz recommended that a Special Police Commission '
<br />be issued on August 3, 2005, until revoked, for Mr. William Armstrong, for Parking Properties. This
<br />Commission is issued for the on-street patrol parking enforcement personnel and does not include
<br />the carrying of a weapon or the powers of arrest. Mr. Armstrong has met the Commission
<br />requirements of the South Bend Police Department. Upon a motion made by Mr. Taylor, seconded
<br />by Mr. Alford and carried, the Special Police Commission was approved.
<br />ACCEPT. AND APPROVE RESIGNATION - JOHN CIESIOLKA
<br />President Rodriguez advised that the Board is in receipt of a letter of resignation from Corporal John
<br />Ciesiolka, PN # 476, in which he tenders his resignation from the South Bend Police Department,
<br />effective July 25, 2005. Chief Thomas Fautz stated that Corporal Ciesiolka was appointed to the
