South Bend Redevelopment Commission <br />Regular Meeting –May 21, 2010 <br /> <br />6. NEW BUSINESS (CONT.) <br /> <br />A. Public Hearing <br /> <br />(1) continued… <br /> <br />process to study acquisition target areas in <br />the Airport Economic Development Area. On <br />March 5, 2010, the Commission approved <br />Resolution No. 2657, a Declaratory <br />Resolution to amend the Development Plan <br />of that area to allow for the acquisition and <br />expenditure of funds on those various <br />properties. <br /> <br />On March 16, 2010, the St. Joseph County <br />Area Plan Commission approved Resolution <br />No. 209-10, which approved, ratified, and <br />confirmed the Commission’s Resolution No. <br />2657, determining that it conforms to the <br />plan of development for the City. <br /> <br />On April 26, 2010, the South Bend Common <br />Council approved Resolution No. 4024-10, <br />which approved, ratified, and confirmed the <br />Area Plan Commission’s Resolution <br />No. 209-10. <br /> <br />The final process in amending the <br />Development Plan to allow these acquisitions <br />is the Confirming Resolution No. 2668. Staff <br />requests Commission approval of <br />Confirming Resolution No. 2668, which will <br />allow for the acquisition of those properties, <br />and the rehabilitation of the area where they <br />are located. <br /> <br />Mr. Inks noted that the public hearing file is <br />complete, containing: A copy of the Notice <br />of Hearing; A copy of Resolution No. 2668; <br />An affidavit from Carol Smith, Advertising <br />Director of the South Bend Tribune, that the <br />Notice of Hearing was published in that <br /> 5 <br /> <br />
