Scott Street and EMI, Inc., 2020 S. <br />Main Street) <br /> <br />Mr. Inks asked that this item be tabled. <br /> <br />CI6.E.(5) <br />Upon a motion by Mr. Downes, seconded by <br />OMMISSION TABLED TEM UNTIL THE <br />J4,2010 <br />UNE MEETING <br />Ms. King and unanimously carried, the <br />Commission tabled Item 6.E.(5) until the <br />June 4, 2010 meeting. <br /> <br /> <br />(6) Application for Grant from American <br />Recovery and Reinvestment Act Revolving <br />Loan Fund (Environmental Remediation <br />of Former Stamping Plant Property) <br /> <br />Mr. Schalliol noted that the Commission has <br />been presented with Preliminary and Final <br />Applications for a sub-grant of up to <br />$200,000 for environmental remediation of <br />the former Studebaker Stamping Plant <br />Property. The sub-grant for this project <br />would be from the EPA funded American <br />Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) <br />grant to the City of South Bend in the amount <br />of $360,000. Under the terms of the grant <br />from EPA, eligible units of government may <br />apply for a sub-grant of up to $200,000. <br />There are currently two other approved <br />projects for use of these grant funds: <br />asbestos abatement at Good Shepherd <br />Montessori School and remediation of metals <br />in the former railroad property located south <br />of the former stamping plant. Ms.Kolata <br />does not believe that these projects will use <br />all of the grant funds. For that reason she is <br /> 16 <br /> <br />
