a ~~ ~~~- <br />REGULAR MEETING FEBRUARY 16, 2005 <br />by Mr. Taylor and carried, the recommendation was approved. <br />APPROVE PROMOTION -SERGEANT SCOTT RUSZKOWSKI <br />In a letter to the Board, Chief Thomas Fautz recommended that Sergeant Scott Ruszkowski be <br />promoted to the rank of Lieutenant in the NEST. Sergeant Ruszkowski was sworn in on April 1, <br />1989. During his career he has worked in the Patrol Division, K9 Unit, Training Division and is a <br />' member of the S WAT Team. The effective date of this promotion was February 16, 2005. Upon a <br />motion made by Mr. Carr, seconded by Mr. Taylor and carried, the recommendation was approved. <br />APPROVE PROMOTION -CORPORAL JAMES MAXEY <br />In a letter to the Board, Chief Thomas Fautz recommended that Corporal James Maxey be promoted <br />to the rank of Sergeant in the Regional Crime Intelligence Unit. Corporal Maxey was sworn in on <br />March 22, 2000. During his career he has worked in the Patrol Division and as a Uniform Crime <br />Scene Technician. Is currently assigned to the Regional Crime Intelligence Unit. The effective date <br />of this promotion was February 16, 2005. Upon a motion made by Mr. Carr, seconded by Mr. Taylor <br />and carried, the recommendation was approved. <br />APPROVE PROMOTION r.SERGEAN'T"BRIAN YOUNG <br />In a letter to the Board, Chief Thomas Fautz recommended that Sergeant Brian Young be promoted <br />to the rank of Lieutenant in~the Uniform Division. Sergeant Young was sworn in on November 23, <br />1992. During his career he has worked in the Patrol Division, K9 Unit, Investigative Division and is <br />a former member ofthe SWAT Team. Sergeant Young is currently assigned to the Family Violence <br />Special Victims Unit. The effective date of this promotion was February 16, 2005. Upon a motion <br />made by Mr. Carr, seconded by Mr. Taylor and carried, the recommendation was approved. <br />ACKNOWLEDGE PROMOTION -LIEUTENANT JEFFREY WALTERS <br />In a letter to the Board, Chief Thomas Fautz recommended that Lieutenant Jeffrey Walters be <br />promoted to the rank of Captain in the Uniform Division. Lieutenant Walters was sworn in on <br />September 16, 1987. During his career he has worked in the Patrol Division, as a commander in the <br />NEST Unit, in the Investigative Division and is a member of the SWAT Team. It was noted that <br />Mayor Steve Luecke approved this promotion. The effective date of this promotion was February <br />16, 2005. The appointment was acknowledged. <br />FILING OF MONTHLY STATISTICAL ANALYSIS REPORT -JANUARY 2005 <br />President Rodriguez indicated that unless there were questions or objections by members of the <br />Board, the statistical report for the month of January 2005, as submitted by the Police Department, <br />would be accepted for filing. Chief noted <br />that Mr. Switalski has served the Department with loyalty and distinction during the last twenty-nine <br />(29) years and two (2) months. Chief joined the Board in thanking him for his commitment, <br />dedication and years of distinguished service to the South Bend and the citizens of South Bend. <br />
