Alford, Me r ~~ Wesley B. aylor, ember 1 i ~ ~ ~~ An ela K. acob, Clerk REGULAR MEETING JANUARY 5, 2005 1 The Board of Public Safety met in the regular meeting at 9:05 a.m. on Wednesday, January 5, 2005, with President Elmer Carr and Board Members Jesusa Rodriguez, Wesley B. Taylor and Donald Alford present. Also present were Police Chief Thomas H. Fautz, Fire Chief Robert Quinn and Board Attorney Thomas Bodnar. The meeting was held in the Board of Public Works Meeting Room, 13`" Floor, County City Building, South Bend, Indiana. APPROVE MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETINGS Ms. Rodriguez advised that if there were no objections by members of the Board, the minutes of the Public Agenda Session, Executive Session, and Regular meetings of the Board held on December 15, 2004 and the Special Meeting of December 22, 2004 would be accepted. There were no objections by members and the minutes were accepted. ELECTION OF BOARD OF PUBLIC SAFETY PRESIDENT Upon a motion made by Mr. Alford, seconded by Mr. Carr and carried, Ms. Jesusa Rodriguez was elected President of the Board of Public Safety for 2005. POLICE DEPARTMENT APPROVAL OF REQUEST FOR CONTINUANCE -CHRISTOPHER HOUSER Corporal Christopher Houser requested a continuance in the hearing which was previously scheduled for January 6, 2005 at 1:30 p.m. Upon a motion made by Mr. Taylor, seconded by Mr. Carr and carried, the hearing was re-scheduled to February 7, 2005, at 9:00 a.m. The location will be determined at a later time. Upon a motion made by Mr. Carr, seconded by Mr. Taylor and carried, the Position of Police Chief and a Letter from Mrs. Linda Hopkins were accepted and filed.
