South Bend Redevelopment Commission
Regular Meeting –April 23, 2010

6. NEW BUSINESS

A. South Bend Central Development Area

(2) continued…

Ms. King asked if we try to recycle materials
on even small demolitions like this one. Mr.
Schalliol responded that we do. It is
expected that about 95% of the materials
from this job will be recycled. Our price is
discounted quite a bit because of the

recycling.

C
Upon a motion by Mr. Downes, seconded by
OMMISSION ACCEPTED THE PROPOSAL FROM
WP
IGHTMAN ETRIE FOR PROFESSIONAL
Ms. King and unanimously carried, the
F’
SERVICES RELATED TO THE FORMER REDS
Commission accepted the proposal from
TS507W.W
RANSMISSION ERVICE AT ESTERN
Wightman Petrie for professional services
A.(AI,
VENUE SBESTOS NSPECTION
related to the former Fred’s Transmission
EA,
NVIRONMENTAL SSESSMENT AND
DS)
Service at 507 W. (Topographic Survey)

Mr. Schalliol noted that as we plan
improvements inside and outside the fence at
Coveleski, we need to understand where the
fence is, topographically. Wightman Petrie
has submitted a proposal to perform a
topographic survey for the Coveleski
Stadium block. When the Commission was
purchasing properties in this area a couple of
years ago, staff had boundary and parcel
surveys completed but opted to hold on the
topographic survey until our planning got a
little further along. We need to complete a
topographic survey so that we can better
finalize concepts and design for that block.
The proposal for survey services is $11,550.
Staff requests a not-to-exceed amount of
13
