<br />STREET OR ALLEY IMPROV WENT RESOLUTION No. 1379
<br />BE IT RESOUVED BY THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND,
<br />ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, STATE OF INDIANA, that it is desired and deeded necessary
<br />to improve Alley South,of Washington Avenue from LaFayette Boulevard to
<br />William Street as follows, to -,Wit: -
<br />Said Alley shall be graded and the roadway thereof shall be paved, also
<br />the roadway of certain portions of the streets and alleys ehich enter or
<br />intersect said alley shall be graded and paved. The paving material to be
<br />used in making said improvement shall be Sheet Asphalt, Bitulithic, Aspha,l--
<br />tic Concrete, Brick or Portland Cement Concrete Pavement seven 07)inches
<br />,hick, the faun.dation shall be Portland cement concrete six (6) inches thick
<br />for the sheet asphalt, bitulithic, asphaltic concrete and brick or rolled
<br />gravel six (6) inches thick for the brick. Storm water inllets and conduits
<br />shall be constructed, where necessary, all storm seater inlets and manholes
<br />shall be set to the proper grade: cement marginal curb shall be constructed
<br />at all street and alleys where necessary, all.as is more particularly shown
<br />and all in accordance with the plans, profiles, detail drawings and speci-
<br />fications on file in the Offfice o f the Department of Public Works of the
<br />City of South Bend, Indiana.

<br />Concerning the improvement of the roadway of Jefferson Street from
<br />Lafayette Blvd to Taylor Street with asphalt, asphaltic concrete, bitulithic,
<br />concrete or brick, in pursuance to Resolution No. 1285 this Board finds that
<br />no Ipeitition has been filed with said Board by a Majority in number of the
<br />freeholders residing on said street to be improved, requesting that it be
<br />imprvvdd with a different kind of pavement than the kind heretofore adopted
<br />by the Board in its preliminary order; and the City Engineer reports that the
<br />Reith-Riley Construction Co is the lowest and best bidder for the kind of
<br />pavement heretofore adopted by the Board, and the Board find that the Reith-
<br />Riley Construction Co is the lowest and best bidder and hereby lets the
<br />contract for said improvement to them and orders that said improvement be
