Klosinski, Assistant City Engineer <br />SUBJECT: <br />Agenda Request Form — Amendment to Professional Services Agreement <br />Airport Annexation Area Sanitary Sewer Extension Design <br />DATE: March 19, 2018 <br />The Department of Community Investment and Division of Engineering request the Board of <br />Public Works approval of an Amendment to an existing Professional Services Agreement with <br />A&Z Engineering (Fort Wayne, IN) to provide additional engineering services. <br />This scope of work includes the design of the sanitary sewer from the southwest quadrant of the <br />US 201 US 31 Bypass Interchange west of the South Bend International Airport to the US 20 I <br />Poppy Road sanitary sewer pump station, geotechnical investigation and utility location. <br />Background and Purpose <br />The Department of Community Investment has been working with the Department of Public <br />Works Division of Engineering to assist with planning and scoping an extension of sanitary <br />sewer services west of the South Bend Regional Airport to provide services to a potential, future <br />development south of US 20 between Pine Road and Olive Road. <br />This planning effort requires a verification of existing facilities, topographic features, right-of- <br />way, and elevation data to provide adequate information for sanitary sewers and water main <br />route planning. The extents of the survey extend west of Poppy Road (nearest sanitary pump <br />station) and east to the US 201 US 31 Bypass Interchange (St. Joseph Valley Parkway). <br />The original contract included funding sources for the survey appropriated from the 2017 TIF <br />River West —Airport Account (324-1050-460-31-02, $50,000) and Engineering Professional <br />Services Account (101-0608-431-31-06, $3,850). Total amount for the survey work is <br />$53,850.00.
