White, Residential Neighborhoods Committee Chairperson <br /> Date: December 20, 2017 <br /> 2017 Annual Report of the Residential Neighborhoods Committee <br /> As Chairperson of the South Bend Common Council's Residential Neighborhoods Committee, I am <br /> pleased to file the 2017 Annual Committee Report. This report sets forth a summary of the key activities <br /> conducted by the Residential Neighborhoods Committee for the 2017 year. <br /> This year the individuals serving on the Residential Neighborhoods Committee included: <br /> Council Member Karen White, Chairperson <br /> Council Member Jo Broden,Vice Chairperson <br /> Council Member Regina Williams-Preston <br /> Council Member John Voorde <br /> Duties: <br /> The Residential Neighborhoods Committee is one of the eleven standing committees of the Common <br /> Council. It oversees the various activities and issues related to neighborhood development and <br /> enhancement per the City Code. <br /> Meetings: <br /> The Residential Neighborhoods Committee, as of the date of this Annual Report, has met five (5)times <br /> this year. <br /> The "Residential Neighborhoods Committee held its organizational meeting on March 1, 2017. Some of <br /> the items discussed included: <br /> 1. A review of the 2016 Annual Report of the Residential Neighborhoods Committee filed by last <br /> year's Chairperson Council Member Karen White. <br /> 2. Discussion of goals and objectives for the committee for the 2017 year. <br /> 3. Importance of ensuring the 2017 City Budget reflected the Council's budget priorities. <br /> 4. Key committee focus would be on the quality of life for neighborhoods and working with the <br /> Neighborhoods Resource Connection (NRC) group. <br /> 5.
