<br />Mr. Fred Pare appeared before the Board in regard to contract for
<br />grade curband wakk on west side of Maimi Street. Board advised that this roll was
<br />a pprov-eel under February 5th. , 1924. _
<br />Board ordered the salary of Mary Sweeney; assistant in office of the
<br />Board to be increased from $80.00 per month to $100.00 per month same effective from
<br />February ;1st,, 1924.
<br />City Clerk was granted permission to purchase an index file fr City
<br />Clerkfs office in.the City Hall, same to be ar i for out of City Hall Fund..
<br />The following resolutions were adopted by the Board.
<br />STREET OR ALLEY IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION ND., 1284.
<br />Be it resolved by the Board 6 Public Works of the City of South Bend,
<br />St. Joseph County, State of Indiana, that it is desired and deemed necessary to improve
<br />Dunham Street, from Chapin Street to McPherson Street, also Laurel & McPherson Streets,
<br />from Dunham Street -to Fisher Street, as ,ollows, towit:-
<br />Said streets shall be graded and the roadways thereof shall be paved,
<br />and also the roadway of certain portions of the streets and alleys which enter or inter-
<br />sect said streets shall be graded and paved. The paving material to be used in making said
<br />Improvement shall be Sheet asphat%, bi.tulithic, asphaltic concrete, Brick or porland
<br />cement concrete pavement seven (7) inches thick, and the foundation shall be portland cement -
<br />concrete
<br />and brick, or rolled gravel six (6) inches thick for the Brick,,also cement curb sb
<br />shall be construetdd along said street where same is necessary and not already constructed,
<br />manholes, storm water inlets and conduits shall be constructed where necessary, all.mah.-
<br />hole tops and storm water inlets shall be set for the proper grade, cement marginal curb
<br />shall be constructed at all street and alley intersections where necessary, all as is more
<br />particularly shown and all in accordance with the plans, profiles, detail drawings and speei
<br />fications on file in the office of the Department of Public Works of the City of South
<br />Bend, Indiana.
