<br />Board met in regular session, at 7-15 P. M. All members
<br />present.
<br />Due t6,:the large crowd, the meeting was adjourned to the
<br />Council Chambers. -
<br />This being the date set, hearings were had on the following
<br />improvementresolutions:
<br />Pavement of the first alley east of Clinton Street from Sample
<br />Street tothe first alley north of Sample Street under improvement Resolution No.I965. I
<br />Pavement of the first alley south of Riverside Drive from
<br />Forest Avenue to Park Avenue under Improvement Resolution No.I967, j
<br />Pavement of the first alley west of Park Avenue from River-
<br />side Drive to first alley south under Improvement Resolution No.I968.
<br />Grade and vralk on the north side of Calvert Street -from
<br />Klin8 Street to Caroline Street under Improvement Resolution Noa•I970.
<br />Local sewer on Lawton Street between Olive Street and Bendix
<br />Drive under Improvement Resolution No.I972.
<br />In all of the above named improvement resolutions, no re-
<br />monstrators appeared and no written remonstrance was filed. The Board, being duly
<br />advised in the premises, finds that the several lots and parcels of land liable to be
<br />assessed for said improvements will be benefited in accordance with the estimated cost
<br />of said improvements as reported by the City Engineer, The Board, therefore, takes
<br />final action on said improvement resolutions, and declares same in all things ratified
<br />confirmed and approved.
<br />In the matter of the local sewer improvement on Lawton Stree
<br />between Olive and Bendix Drive, tinder Improvement Resolution No.I972, the Board hereby;
<br />orders that on the 22nd., day of November, I927, this Board will receive, open and i
<br />consider sealed proposals up to I0:00 A. M. The Board further orders that notices of
<br />said sealed proposals shall be published on the IIth., day of November and on the I8thl,
<br />day of November, I927, in the South Bend News Times and Tribune according to law.
<br />This being the date set, hearing was hadon the improvement
<br />resolution for the construction of pavement on Chapin Street from Indiana Avenue to
<br />Calvert Street under Improvement Resolution No.I97I.
<br />In the above named improvement resolution, remonstrators
<br />appeared but no ,written remonstrance was filed and the Board, being fully advised in
<br />the premises, finds that the benefits to the several lots and parcels of land liable
<br />to be assessed for said improvement will be equal to the estimated cost of same as
<br />reported by the City Engineer. The Board, therefore, takes final action on sadd
<br />improvement resolution No.I97I and declares same in all things ratified, confirmed
<br />and approved.
<br />This being the date set, hearing was had on the improvement
<br />resolution for the grading of the first alley south of Calvert Street from Chapin Str
<br />to Kendall Street under Improvement Resolution No.I966.
<br />,In the above named improvement, remonstrators appeared and
<br />a written remonstrance was filed and the Board being filly advised in the premises
<br />decides to over rule said remonstrance and takes final action on said improvement
<br />resolution, declaring same in all things ratified, confirmed and approved.. Said
<br />written remonstrance referred to City Engineer for final check.
<br />The Board signed and approved the following Guarantee Bonds:
<br />Guarantee bond for the pavement of alleys in Summit Place
<br />Fifth Addition under Improvement Resolution No.I88I. Bond far $1,056.69 signed by
<br />Metropolitan Casualty Insurance Co., in favor of Colpeart Co.
<br />Guarantee Bond of the Williston Construction Co., for the
<br />pavement on Woodside Street under Improvement Resolution No.I8I6. Bond for 2T8IO.03
<br />signed by Inland Bonding (;o., signed and approved by the Board.
<br />Guarantee Bond of the Willi stern Construction Co, for the
<br />pavement on Twin Street under Improvement Resolution'No.I909 Bond for $1,659.47 signe
<br />by Inland Bondin`; Co., approved by the Board.
<br />Guarantee Bond of the Williston Construction Co., for the
<br />grade, curb, walk sewer and pavement improvement on Medora• Street under Improvement
<br />Resolution No.I945. Bo$d for $96I.31 signed by Inland Bonding Co., approved by the
<br />Board.
<br />Guarantee Bond of Williston Construction Co., for the pave-
<br />ment on Oakside Street under Improvement Resolution No.I836. Bond for $3,'60$.67
<br />signed by Inland Bonding Co., approved by the Board.
