Nilliams, City Engine( <br />In the above named assessment roll, the Board hereby orders that it will meet in <br />the City Hall at 10:00 A. Til. on January 13th, 1941, for the purpose of hearing and re- <br />ceiving remonstrances from all persons interested in or affected by said Vacation Re- <br />solution No. 2503, and the Board further orders that notices of said hearing be ad- <br />vertised in two newspapers in South Bend, on December 26, 1940 and January 3, 1941, and <br />that notices together with the amount of damages awarded and benefits assessed be <br />addressed to the property owners according to law. <br />• <br />Continuation certificates on the following excavation bonds were received. <br />Samuel Slutsky, J. B. Fleck & Sons, Rocco Simeri and A. W. Deppert. These certifi- <br />cates -were approved and ordered filed. <br />A meeting was held with Alex Langel, Portage Township Trustee and his attorney, <br />Alfred E. Martin, for the purpose of signing a contract for contribution of the Trustee <br />to the W.P.A. projects sponsered by the City during the year 1941. Copy of this contrac <br />is placed in our files. <br />Mr. R. Edward Smith, Superintendent of buildings and grounds for the School City <br />• <br />was granted permission to remove the top soil from the thirty foot of unp-aved roadway <br />area between Teyckenham Dr., and Greenlawn Ave. This permission was granted in a letter <br />dated December 27, 1940 and signed by Ib7r. Williams, Chairman. <br />ELECTRIC DEPARTMENT: Mr. Qualls reported the installation of lights as follows: 1 <br />6000 lumen light, building fixture underground service on the northwest corner of <br />the Central Fire.Station building at Wayne and St. Joseph Sts. <br />Changing lamp #J259-1544 from 4000 lumen to 6000 lumen.
