an ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT., An excavation bond in the amount of $1000.00 eras received for Harry Nicodemus. A continuation certificate was received for Thilman Bros., for their excavation bond. A continuation certificate for the excavation bond for Arthur W. Deppert was received. These bonds and certificates were approved and ordered filed.' Grades -were established on the alley south of Jennings St., from Main St. to Michi; St., also on the alley West of Michigan St., from Dean St. to Jennings.St. The Board approved the plan for a 161 driveway for the new Kroger Store on the No East corner of Indiana Ave., and Michigan -St. This driveris on Indiana Ave., adjacent the alley East of Michigan St. ELECTRIC DEPARTMENT: It was moved, seconded and unanimously carried that a 4000 lumen light be installed at the entrance to the Studebaker Plant on Eckman St., and that the City Engineer contact the Pennsylvania Railroad, relative to the installation of a 4000 lumen light at their crossing at Eckman St. STREET DEPARTMENT: Mr. Tony Zmudzinski, Street Commissioner was present and matters pertaining to his department were discussed. The.Engineering Department and the Street Department submitted specifications for the purchase of one power driven grader for use in the Street Department. The specifi- cations are now approved and adopted by the Board. The Clerk is now instructed to advertise for bids in the Mirror and the South Bend Tribune on December 27, 1940 and Jan uary 3rd, 1941. Bids to be received on January 13th, 1941. There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting adjourned at 12:10 P. M.
