r r 563 • 0 • F_LE IC DEPARTMENT: Mr. Wm. Qualls was present and matters pertaining to his depart - went were discussed. On the recommendation of Mr. Wm. Qualls, a street light will be installed at the intersection of Wilbuk and Longley St. This will be a 1000 lumen light. A request having been made by George Wheelock & Co., to turn off two street lights; one in front of the Wheelock store and the other directly across the street, on Thurs- day., October 17, 1940 for the purpose of a special window display called "Black Night", and the Board having obtained a report, from Mr. Qualls and also having called Mr. Van Horne, the jeweler, whose business establishment is directly across the street from the Wheelock store, and Mr. Van Horne having disapproved turning out the light in front of his place of business, the Board wishing to cooperate with Wheelock & Co., approved of turning out the light in front of the Wheelock store and also placing a shield on the light across the street so that the rays from this light would not reflect on the Wheelock store: A letter was written to the Indiana.-& Michigan Electric Co., advising them of this request and theactionof the Board, and also advising them that any expense envolved would be assumed by Geo. Wheelock &-Co. CEMETERY DEPARTMENT: Mr. Lisle McNabb filed his report for the month of September, 1940, which -report was ordered filed. The Board directs that the City Hall offices be closed_in commemoration of Columbus Day, on October 12th. There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting adjourned at 10 : 30 A . Td .
