Qualls was present and matters pertaining to his depart - <br />went were discussed. <br />On the recommendation of Mr. Wm. Qualls, a street light will be installed at the <br />intersection of Wilbuk and Longley St. This will be a 1000 lumen light. <br />A request having been made by George Wheelock & Co., to turn off two street lights; <br />one in front of the Wheelock store and the other directly across the street, on Thurs- <br />day., October 17, 1940 for the purpose of a special window display called "Black Night", <br />and the Board having obtained a report, from Mr. Qualls and also having called Mr. Van <br />Horne, the jeweler, whose business establishment is directly across the street from <br />the Wheelock store, and Mr. Van Horne having disapproved turning out the light in front <br />of his place of business, the Board wishing to cooperate with Wheelock & Co., approved <br />of turning out the light in front of the Wheelock store and also placing a shield on <br />the light across the street so that the rays from this light would not reflect on the <br />Wheelock store: <br />A letter was written to the Indiana.-& Michigan Electric Co., advising them of this <br />request and theactionof the Board, and also advising them that any expense envolved <br />would be assumed by Geo. Wheelock &-Co. <br />CEMETERY DEPARTMENT: Mr. Lisle McNabb filed his report for the month of September, <br />1940, which -report was ordered filed. <br />The Board directs that the City Hall offices be closed_in commemoration of Columbus <br />Day, on October 12th. <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting adjourned <br />at 10 : 30 A .
