The Roard received a report from the City Plan Commission approving the acceptance <br />of the following; deed; from David L. Guilfoyle and Catherine E. Guilfoyle, his wife, now <br />of Dade County, State of Florida, and formerly of St. Joseph County, in the State of Ind <br />Tana for the following described Real Eatate in St. Joseph County in the State of <br />Indiana, to -wit: <br />A part of Bank Out Lot Numbered Ninety-four (94) of the Second Plat of Outlots <br />to the Town, now City, of South .Bend, which part is bounded by a line running <br />as follovas, to -wit: v <br />Beginning at a point on the West line of Arnold Street in said City of South Bend <br />• 184 feet South of the intersection of Western Avenue and Arnold Street in said <br />City; thence retest 92 feet; thence North 87 feet; thence North, 450 west, 7 feet; <br />thence West 200.05 feet; thence North 92 feet tot he South line of said Western <br />Avenue; thence East along said south line 12 feet; thence South 75 feet; thence <br />South, 450 East, 7 feet; thence East 188.05 feet; thence North, 220 6' East, <br />17.2 feet; thence East 12 feet; thence South, 220 61 Nest, 17.2 feet; thence <br />South 87 feet; thence South, 450 East, 7 feet; thence East 75 feet; thence South <br />12 feet to the place of beginning; -being the proposed Alley as laid out and <br />designated on the roposed Plat o - Guilfoy le's Sub -division of a part of said. <br />Bank Out Lot Numbered 94. <br />• The real estate hereinabove described is hereby conveyed to the City of South Bend, <br />Indiana, for use by the public as a public alley. <br />The Deed was accepted by the Board and the Clerk was ordered to have the same recorded. <br />A petition to pave LaSalle Court from the end of the present pavement across alley <br />to Colfax Avenue by the construction of brick pavement with J.P.A. labor and city <br />materials was received and referred to the Engineering Department for investigation and <br />report. <br />f A claim for damage done to sidewalk, corner curbing and driveway at 1101 N. College <br />Street presented by �Jilbur H. Hoover was referred to the Engineering Department for <br />investigation. <br />CITY CE%,"ETERY DEPT: Lisle F. liIcNabb was present and matters pertaining to his departmen <br />were discussed. I,Ir. 1TcHabb presented his financial report for August, 1939, showing <br />receipts of 0160.00 for perpetual care and 'P132.00 general fund. <br />Continuation Certificates on contractor's bonds of John VonBergen and Charles E. <br />Dahmons were approved. <br />r Continuation Certificate on Excavation bond of Goheen Plumbing & leating Company <br />was approved. <br />T,Ir. Williams, City Civil Engineer, reported that Leo Rieder had contacted him rela- <br />tive to the city using the Old Hoffman Gravel Pit on i, iles Avenue as a Central 1,lixing <br />Plant.
