Mr. Gonas said the complaint could be settled for six <br />or seven hundred dollars, if immediate payment was made. He was informed that in the <br />opinion of the Board, there was no liability on the part of the city. <br />% A letter was received fr cm Attorney Floyd Jellison, w1no represents Anna '��pplegate, <br />✓stating that they will accept �1500.00 for settlement of a claim against the city as a <br />result of personal injuries received bar111rs. Appl&gate when she fell after tripping over <br />an alleged defective sidewalk on East South Street. <br />STREET DEPARTIE ITT: <br />Mr. Zmudzinski was _present and matters pertaining to his department were discussed. <br />1-,1 °. Znudzinski reported that the sewer in the 500 and 600 block East Broadjjay had been <br />inspected, cleaned and the difficulty adjusted. <br />Mr. Zmudzinski reported that PIrs. Edward Detzler of South I,Ii.a_mi Street has been <br />burning leaves and trash on asphalt pavement and has refused to comply with the request <br />of the Street Department to desist. The matter was r eferred to the Board of Safety, to <br />be referrdd to the Chief of Police with instructions to check the ordinance and take the <br />matter up with either %Ir. or itiirs.
