VA petition asking that a street light be installed at the intersection of Madison a Sommers Street was presented to the Board and referred to Mr. _Qualls for investigation a recommendation. r/TheDepartment of Public' Parks requested that a permit fee be cancelled upon the construction of a shelter house in Rum Village Park, also that the fees be cancelled covering the building of the administration building in Howard Park. In view of the fact that the latter was temporarily held up pending decision of the City Plan Commissio this was rejected. It was, however, decided to cancel the fees covering the shelter hou in Ran Village Parka Bids were received from the Fairbanks -Morse and Company of Chicag9, also A. N. Emm.in ger of South Bend, representative of the Howe Scale.Company of Chicago, for -the instal- lation of new scales of 20 ton capacity, 34'x 9 feet platform, to=be installed at the, Central Fire Station. Final decision with reference to the purchase of these scales was held pending a report from the. County Treasurer to the City Controller as to collec- tions on fall taxes to ascertain if sufficient funds will be available for the purchase and installation of these scales during the current year. He did not recommend the installation and the Board upon regular motion seconded and carried ordered the petition placed on file. /Continuation.Certificate covering Excavation bond in favor of Adolph H. Stuhmer wa ordered filed with the original bond. The Board again eo=Isidered the question of purchasing new scales to be installed a tht Central Station, and due to the fact that the Controller was unable to determine funds available for this purpose, it was decided to postpone final decision regarding the purchase of these scales until December 19th.
