This is EXHIBIT A, consisting of 19 pages, referred to in <br />and part of the Agreement between Owner and Engineer <br />for Professional Services dated February 13, _2018. <br />Engineer's Services <br />Article 1 of the Agreement is supplemented to include the following agreement of the parties. <br />Engineer shall provide Basic and Additional Services as set forth below. <br />PART I -- BASIC SERVICES <br />A 1.01 Project Description <br />A. The proposed project involves design of lane width reductions on SR 933 (Lincoln Way East) <br />between Sample Street and Twyckenham Drive to permit construction of improved bicycle and <br />pedestrian facilities along the north side of the roadway. The project has a length of approximately <br />4,600 feet. <br />B. The initial contract document will address the survey, location control route survey plat, right-of- <br />way engineering, and development of preliminary design alternatives for design of the proposed <br />improvements. An amendment to this contract will provided for preliminary design, final design, <br />bidding phase services, and construction phase services. Fees for right-of-way services will be <br />amended as necessary based on results of the Appraisal Problem Analysis. <br />A1.02 Design Alternatives Phase <br />A. Upon written authorization from Owner, Engineer shall: <br />1. Prepare preliminary alternatives for design of sidewalk/multi-use path along the north side <br />of Lincoln Way East. Design alternatives shall include documents consisting of preliminary <br />design criteria, preliminary typical sections, right-of-way impacts, and preliminary cost <br />estimates. <br />2. Provide a determination of need for guardrail along the Lincoln Way East corridor. <br />Coordinate with the City of South Bend and INDOT — Laporte District for concurrence on <br />the determination. <br />3. Provide necessary field survey and topographic and utility mapping for design purposes. <br />Survey to be completed within 45 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed, weather <br />permitting. Full topographic survey of the project corridor from 500' East of Twyckenhan <br />Drive to 500' west of Sample Street, Survey shall include one shot south of the south <br />sidewalk and north to the St. Joseph River. <br />4, The Engineer shall provide the services requested to develop a Location Control Route <br />Survey in accordance with 865 IAC 1-12 for the project.
