<br />Charles .16. Bailey, Street 8omm.issioner, reported the progress of the wIDrk
<br />in the street department under FERA and same was found satisfactory.
<br />Upon the recommendation of Charles E. Bailey, Street Commissioner!,- the
<br />Board ordered the.t Bob harri s, foreman in the Street Department, be allowed 50 gallons
<br />• of easoline each month in his car for use in his work in the Street Department.
<br />The following letter was received from. the Board of Public Safety and order-
<br />ed placed on file:

<br />Gen. tlemen:
<br />• We have your letter of the 19th., inst. with reference to the vacating
<br />of the space now being used for the dof-- pound.
<br />It is our understanding that -,our Board he s the custody of all real property
<br />of the city.
<br />In your letter you f,il to adt*ise us where you intend to locate this depart
<br />ment a.nci- until you do assign adequate quarters, the dog pound, of necessity, will remain
<br />in its present location.

<br />was returned to the Board, vith a letter from 1=r. Bailey, giving a full report on
<br />same:

<br />I rode :giver a. se;.rer cpver, which when riding- over was opened, damaging the cars right
<br />• front and right rear wheels, springing axle, damaging running board and fenders,
<br />both tires, blaving out. I em herewith enclosing repa irmens estimate on the above
<br />mentioned damge.

<br />Regarding the attached letter from Ernest J. Foek, 107 h. Donald Street,
<br />under date of September 18th. , reporting an accident claimed to have happened Sunday
<br />evening, �'jpptember 16th.
<br />aThis letter was the first report we have receiveC indicating an open manhole
<br />or loose manhole cover at lndienrn Avenue and bwygart. the letter would indicate the lo-
<br />cation to be on Indiana avenue to the west of the intersection of Syweart and Indiana.
