Organization Responsibilities Outlined <br />iAGO, InclYouthBuild South Bend's organization encompasses a variety of backgrounds and talents, including <br />ones from the community, mental health field, educational field, and the youth themselves. The board of <br />directors act as a check and balance for the organization's design and implementation, suggestions for improved <br />quality of service, individual service plans, and available community resources. Below is a very brief overview <br />of what individuals provide the organization. <br />Linda Carter-Real Estate Broker,ABR, CFHC- <br />Director/Leadership Coordinator <br />Linda's background in finance and real estate brings a valuable component to the organization, one of an <br />entrepreneurial spirit. Her interests are in helping the young people set and obtain goals that will lead to skills <br />making them job or career ready. Their education and fmancial literacy are a primary focus. She is active in <br />finding and maintaining youth referring agency and community facilitator relationships, mentors, internships, <br />and fundraising opportunities for the youth. <br />Tina Prieto-BA, Communications <br />Asst. Dir/Program Manager <br />Tina specializes in youth treatment and is interested in and targets their emotional health. She designs and <br />implements programs for the corporation as well as assists youth in developing individual plans to chart their <br />direction in life. She is actively involved in fund raising and seeking opportunities for internships for the youth. <br />Tanya Terry-BS Organizational Management <br />TreasurerBookkeeper <br />Tanya is currently working on obtaining her Masters in Organizational Management and is focused in making <br />sure that program design and implementation is carried out. She also critiques the program elements to be sure <br />that we are operating at our full potential as an organization. As treasurer, all financial transactions are <br />reviewed, checked and balanced. <br />Edward Carter, Real Estate Investor <br />Chairman/Construction Manager <br />As a community representative, Edward has a variety of experience in the renovation and remodeling field. <br />Additionally, his work with the youth through his ministry, has had a very positive effect on their lives. He <br />brings to the organization his ability to manage a construction project from beginning to end, creating and <br />submitting bids, adhering to a construction budget, overseeing all contractors, pulling permits, complying with <br />OSHA safety standards, ordering tools, equipment and supplies needed for construction projects, <br />Additionally, he will refer youth and develop new intern and job opportunities for them. <br />Ronald Phelps, BA-Biological Sciences <br />Secretary/Vocational Instructor <br />Mr. Phelps has spent his life helping disadvantaged youth see a way out of their seemingly dire circumstances. <br />His many years as a teacher in public, private, and mental health facilities serving the needs of youth, bring a <br />valuable element to the table. Ron designs classroom and individual student curriculum, holding one on one <br />sessions with youth and their families or facilitators, refers youth and their families to appropriate sources for <br />assistance, provides checks and balances on their week to week progress and provides information to the group <br />to effect a positive outcome for the youth. <br />YB P 6 of 10 <br />
