<br />The Board signed the contract with filbert Construction �Iompany for the sheet

<br />asphalt pavement on Dendix `'rive from Crumstown Avenue to Lincoln Way West under;
<br />Impmvement resolution No.245I in the amount of $2-1,683.25. The Board approved the
<br />construction bond
<br />of same in the amount of 505 of the contract prase signed by
<br />lietropolitan Casualty Insurance Company of New York.

<br />This being the date set, hearing was had on Improvement Resolution No.2449 for
<br />•
<br />the pavement of the alley north of Marion Street from T.lichigan Street to St. Joseph
<br />Street.

<br />In the above named improvement resolution, remonstrators appeared and a written
<br />remonstrance was filed and the Board, after hep ring all persons interested in said it-
<br />provement decades to rescindall former action taken on said resolution and declares
<br />i
<br />same null and void and the proceedings closed.
<br />This being the date set, hearing eras had on Vacation Resolution No.2450 for
<br />the vacation of alley west of Fremont Street from Orange Street to Washington Street.

<br />was filed. Clerk of the Board submitted proofs of publication as provided. for by law
<br />and same vvere found sufficient. after hearing all persons interested in said vacation
<br />resolution and being filly advised in the preNises, the board decides to modify said
<br />vacattaion resolution by giving an easement refit '-to the existing public utilities
<br />in the alley seuth of Linden Avenue from. Yale Street to Vashington Otreet. With
<br />this modification, the Board decides to take final action 6;n said vacation resolution
<br />and declares same in all things ratified, confirmed and approved, as modified, and
<br />the alleys and street vacated. `the '5oard now orders; that a list or roll be prepared
<br />of all owners and holders of property and of valuable interests therein sought to be
<br />taken, which list or roll shall also describe the property beneficially affected by
<br />such vacation.
<br />City engineer, H. G. airey, submitted Partial estimate NO.I for the local sewer
<br />improvement in Tremont Street and Washington Itreet from Orange Street to the center
<br />lineof Lot I9 in Nest End Subdivision and in accordance with the terms of the contract
<br />between the City and Sapdoni Company, under Improvement Resolution No.2436. The
<br />Board signed and approved same in the amount of $308.95, which is 65% of the amount
<br />of the completed work.
<br />City Engineer, H. G. 1v'ra y, submitted Final Estimate for the grade, curb and walk
<br />improvement on Mishawaka Avenue under Improvement Resolution No. 2378. The Board signed
<br />same in the amount of $2, 531.92.
<br />This being the date set, hearing vjas had on the assessment roll for the grade,
<br />curb and walk improvement on Bendix Drive from Crumstown Avenge to Lincoln 'flay "est.
<br />under Improvenent resolution No.2408.
<br />. In the above named assessment roll, no remonstrators appeared and no written
<br />remonstrance was filed and the Board, after hearing all persons interested in sa id asses
<br />ment roll, finds that the several lots and parcels of land have been benefited in the
<br />amounts shun on said roll. The board, therefore, decides to fake final action on said
<br />assessment roll and declares same in all things irtified, confirmed and approved without
<br />modification and the proceedings closed. The Board now orders said assessment roll
<br />delivered to the Department of Finance.
<br />Claims amount ing to $582.46 fo r various d epa rtment s were signed and approved by
<br />the Board.
<br />the board approved the petit ion of the Builders Agency, Inc. , to use the sidewalk
<br />• area for elevator shaft in front of the Conservative Life Insurance Company building at
<br />I22 North plain Street. There is no rear entrance to this bui ld ing and deliveries have
<br />I! to be made through an outt e, stairway located on the sidewalk in front of this build-
<br />ing. This elevator will eliminate the stairway althogether and give freer use of the
<br />sidewalk at this location.
<br />No petitions having been filed for a chanee in the type of pavement other than
<br />that specified in the preliminary o rder fbr the pa vement of bend. ix Drive from Crumstown
<br />Avenue to Lincoln 14ay "est under Improvement Resolution No.2437, the Board, this 14th.,
<br />flay of July I93I, hereby, makes a final order for sheet asphalt pavement as the type
<br />j of pavement with which said street shall be improved and awards the contract for said
<br />improve men t to Albert Construction Comwny at their low bid. of $5,861.60 for sheet asph-
