<br />treet under Improvement Resolution No.2326, the Board this Ist. , day of April 1930,
<br />hereby awards the contract for said improvement to Rocco Simeri at his low bid of
<br />'aT, 282.00.
<br />Bids having been received for the grade, curb a nd, walk improvement on
<br />Sorin Street under Improvement resolution No.2327, the Boe.rd this Ist. , day of April
<br />1930, hereby awards the 'contract for said improvement to N. N. Barnes at his lows bid
<br />of 29717.25.
<br />This being the date set, continued he, ring was had on Track -61evation
<br />Resolution No.5.
<br />In the above named Track Elevation Resolution �`�o.5 the Board decides
<br />to modify the Original `track Elevation Resolution No.5 as follows:

<br />Resolved by the Board of Public +Forks of the pity of bouth Bend,
<br />Indiana:
<br />That it is deemed necessary that the grade crossing of the tracks
<br />of the New York Central Railroad Company, formerltiT the Lake Shore and 1i chigan Southern
<br />Railwajr ''ompany, at the' intersection of said tracks with Division Street , "alnut Street,
<br />and Cherry Street,, in the City of South Bend, Indiana, be altered by elevating said
<br />J;raeks at said- intersections. Also, the grade crossing of the tracks of the Grand
<br />Trunk "esterly Railroad Company and the tracks of the New York Central Railroad Oo.,
<br />( Illinois Division) at the intersection ofsaid tracks -with YJ'alnut Street, in the
<br />City of South Bend, Indiana, be altered by depressing said street under stid tracks
<br />at their present elevation. A so$ the grade crossing of the tracks of the New York
<br />Central Railroad Company (din Line) at the intersection of said tracks with Arnold
<br />Street, in the City of oouth Bend, Indiana, be altered by i.iding said tracks at said
<br />intersection. Also, the grade crossing of -the track of the Neu Jersey, Indiana and
<br />Illinois Railroad Company and the track of the New York Central Railroad 'ompany's
<br />connecting track to the _Michigan .Central Railway at the intersection of seid tracks
<br />with Division street , in tb.e City of South Bend, Indiana, be altered by raising said
<br />tracks at said intersection. The change in grade of said intersecting streets, the
<br />amount in feet of the vertical clearance at each intersection as measured between
<br />the surface of saeh of such streets as proposed by such new depressed grade, and the
<br />bottom of the superstructure'over the same top
<br />eCher with proposed roadway widths
<br />beneath said superstructure shall be as follows, to -wit:
<br />I. At the intersection of Division 'street and "alnut "treet with
<br />the tracks of the New York Central Railroad Company, the surfaces of said Division
<br />Street and said "alnut Street shall be depressed nine and seventy-six one -hundredths
<br />(9.761) feet below the average grade level of said streets at the end of existing
<br />approach grades as now maititat ned; said depression at the lowest point shall not be
<br />lower than elevation forty-nine ninety-three (49.93) as expressed in City of South
<br />Bend. datum; the vertiae.l clearance shall be a minimum at thirteen (I3) feet as measured
<br />between the surafa.ce of the streets as fixed above, and the hottom of the bridge
<br />,superstructure over said streets; the approach grade on said Division Street shall be
<br />an ascending grade not greater than three and twenty-five one hundredths (3.25' ) feet
<br />to each one hundred ( TOOL ) feet in an easterly and westerly direction from said
<br />superstructures, such approach grades to be extended until the present street grade
<br />of said Division Street has been intersected; the approach grade on said Vvtlnut Street
<br />north of 'Division Street shall be an ascend ing grade not greater than three and twenty-
<br />five one -hundredths (3.251) feet to each one hundred tIO01) feet and shall be extended
<br />h.ortherly from the superstructure until the present grade of said Walnut Street has
<br />been intersected; the apTr oach grade on said _V alnut Street south from -Uivision Street
<br />shall be an ascending grade not greater than three and. twenty-five one hundredths
<br />(3.25' ) feet to each one hundred (I00' ) feet and shall be extended southerly from
<br />the south property line of Division 'street until the present street grade of said
<br />Walnut �'treet has been intersected- the roadvray of sa-d Division Street beneath the
<br />superstructure shall be fifty -tyro (52' ) feet in width between curb lines with center
