<br />Gentlemen:
<br />As we have been operating and disposing of the garbage of the City of
<br />South Bend of the City of South Bend, also of Yishawaka, for more than two .years,
<br />and had no complaints or caused any disturbance in the neighborhood, and with our
<br />present tray of disposing of the garbage, crhich '-ias proven very satisfactory, also
<br />the convenience way of unloading the garbage for the City trucks, which is quite a
<br />saving of expense of the City true,s and tires, this has been very satisfactory
<br />with the Superintendent of the Garbage Department of South Bend, we will continue
<br />in like matter for the term.
<br />Also we will furnish one truck and man to be used in gathering and drawing
<br />garbage to the place of delivery during the heavy season of the year, and will at
<br />all times cooperate with the City, and still are going to make more improvements in
<br />the way to lessen the expense bf both ourselves and the City.
<br />In the event an injuntion should arise against us, or any trouble of any
<br />kind, and we are unable to find a suitable place to dispose of the 13arbage, the
<br />City then will release us from this contract and obligation.
<br />Our proposition is that the City shall deliver the garbage to the farm
<br />now occupies by us north of Yishawa'ca and unload the same under our direction without
<br />cost or expense to us, and the will care for and dis,-ose of the garbage without cost
<br />or expense to the City, and we will execute a contract forthwith, giving and execut-
<br />ing the bond required, which contract shall be substantially in accordance with the
<br />specification on file with the Board of Public „or'cs, and that dueing the heavy season
<br />of the year vie will furnish a truck and one man to assist in the gathering of the
<br />garbage and delivery of the same to our farm which ,T11l b- furnished without cost
<br />and expense to the City in such wor'h he shall be under the direction of the City
<br />authorities.

<br />decrease as the case may be.
<br />For the disposal of garbage only, (City to collect and deliver) •:,re agree

<br />case we further agree to do all our feeding in buildings on fl6ors constructed for

<br />equipment and surroundings in as neat and stnitary condit1on as possible.
<br />As to reference we wish to name the City of LaPorte, Indiana, where we
<br />are now in the larbage Dis osal business.

<br />and all small dead animals with the city of South Bend, for a term of five (5) years,
<br />beginning January I, I930, as per your specifications on file in your office, I agree
<br />to furnish all equipment such as trucks, supplies, etc., for the first .year, from
<br />January I,I930 to December 3I,I930 for the sum of m49,500.00 and JI,500.00 extra
<br />for each year beginning with the second third,, fourth and fifth years.
