July .23rd. , 1929. <br />.attorney biller Guy appeared :before the Board and placed on <br />file 'a certified copy of the order, of the County commissioners for the opening and <br />establishment of a new high way.in Portage, centre and Union Townships. <br />dity Engineer, H. G , Wray, filed the primary assessment r 11 for <br />the local sewer imDrovemen.t on Fremont Street from Hukboldt Street .to Awood Ivenne <br />under Improvement Resolution No.22I8. <br />in th above named assessment roll, the Board, hereby, orders <br />that on the 7th. ,. day -Of ugust, I929, this Board -will meet in their office in the <br />City Hall, at 7-I5 P. M., to hear and redeive remonstrances from all persons whose <br />property has been assessed for said improvement and will decide whether the s everal <br />lots and parcels of land have been or will be benefited in the amount s named on <br />said primary roll, or in a greater or less spun than that named on said roll. The <br />Board further orders that notices of said hearing shall be published on the 26th. , <br />dsy Of July and on the. 2nd., day. of August 19299, in the South Bend Mews times and <br />Tribune according. to law. <br />Meeting adjourned at II-30 . <br />r. <br />Attested; <br />ler o f the- Boar <br />WEDNESDAY JULY 25th. , 19290 <br />Board met in regular session at 7-I5 P. Y. All members present. <br />The Board signed the contract With Hoban and Roach for the pavement <br />of the alley north of LaSalle Avenue from Taylor Otreet to Scott Street under Improve- <br />ment Resolution No.2237 inthe amount of I275.250 The Board also approved the construct. <br />ion bond of same for 504 of the contract price signed by Southern Surety fro. <br />This being the date set, hearings were had on the following assess- <br />ment rolls! <br />Assessment roll for the sewer improvement on Olive Street from <br />Lincoln tNay West to Elwood Avenue under Improvement Resolution No..2I43. <br />Assessment roll for the pavement improvement on Catalpa Avenue from <br />south Line Cotter Street to south line S. J. S. B., and -S. R. R. under Improvement <br />Resolution No. 2I6I. <br />Assessment roll for the pavement improvement of Miner Street 'from <br />east line Madison Park Addition to west line of Harriett Street under Improvement <br />'Resolution No.2I63. <br />In all of the above named assessment 'rolls, no remonstrators <br />Appeared and. no written remonstrances were filed .and the Board, being fully advised <br />in the premises, finds that the several lots and parcels of land have been benefited <br />in the amounts named on said assessment rolls. The Board, therefore, decides to take <br />final action on said primary assessment rolls, and declares same in all things ratified'' <br />confirmed and approved without modification and the proceedings closed. The Board <br />now orders said assessment rolls delivered to the Department of Finance. <br />This being the date set, continued -hearing was bad on the assessment''; <br />roll Pot eh grade, curb and walk improvement on 35th. , Street under Improvement <br />Resolution No.2I45. <br />In the above named assessment roll, no remonstrators appeared and <br />and written remonstrances having been_'filed under date of July 9th. , I929, the Board, <br />being fully advised in the premises; d6o'Ide@ to over rule said remonstrance and finds <br />that the s.everalo lots and parcels of lad bave been benefited in the amounts named <br />on.said primary assessment roll. The Board, therefore, decides to take final action <br />on said roll and declares same in all things ratified, confirmed and .approved without <br />modification and the proceedings closed.
