<br />Board met in regular session at- 7-I5 P. Y, .All members present.
<br />The Board approved the excavation bond of Harve E. Valott in the amount
<br />Of 11,000.00 signed by the Varyland Casualty Company.
<br />This being the date, continued hearing was had on the pavement of
<br />Bowman --Street from Sampson Street to Ernsperger Street under Improvement Resolution
<br />No.2I86.
<br />In the above named. improvement resolution, r®monstrators appeared but
<br />no written remonstrance was filed and the Board, afterihearing all persons interested
<br />in said improvement and being fully advised in the premises, decides to rescind all
<br />former action taken on said improvement resolution and declares same null and void
<br />and - the proceedings closed.
<br />This being the ,date set, hearing was had on the improvement resolution
<br />for the pavement of Ruskin Street from Oakland Street to Glover Street under Improve-
<br />ment Resolution No.2I93.
<br />In the above named improvement resolution, remonstrators appeared but
<br />no written remonstrance was filed and the Board, being fully advised in the -premises
<br />and hearing all persons interested in said improvement, decides to rescind all former":
<br />action taken on said improvement resolution and declares same null and void and the
<br />proceedings closed.
<br />Thisbeing the date set, hearings were bad on the following improvement
<br />resolutions:
<br />Improvement _Resolution for the grading of the alley sou.)h of Fairview
<br />.Avenue from High 'street to Dale Avenue under Improvement Resolution No.2I9I.
<br />Improvement Resolution No.2I90 for the grading of the alley east of
<br />High, Street from Fairview Avenue to Irvington Avenue.
<br />In both of the above named improvement resolutions, no remonstrators
<br />appeared and no written remonstrance was filed and the Board, Peing fully advised in
<br />the premises, finds that the benefits to the several lots and parcels of land liable
<br />to be assessed for said improvements will be equal to the estimated costs of same
<br />as reported by the City Engineer.. The Board, therefore, decides to take final action'
<br />on said improvement resolutions and declares same in all things ratified, confirmed
<br />and approved without modification.
<br />j In both of the -above named improvement resolutions, the Board now orders
<br />that on the 23rd. , day of Aril 1929, the Board will meet in their offic ein the O'ity
<br />1 Hall up to I0:00 A. Y., to receive, open and read sealed rroposals for the above
<br />improvements. The Board further orders that notices of said proposals shall be
<br />j published on the I2th. , day of April and on the I9th. , day of April 2929 in the South
<br />t Bend News Times and Tribune according to law. -
<br />This being the date set, hearing was had on Improvement Resolution 1To.
<br />2192 1"or the rs.vement and widening of Chapin 6treet from the North line of Ford Street
<br />to the North curb line of Prairie Avenue. (See files for copy of resolution.)
<br />In the above named improvement resolution, one remonstrator appeared
<br />but about twentjt property owners were present in favor of the improvement. After
<br />;i hearing all persons interested in said improvement and being fully advised in the
<br />premises, the Board finds that the benefits to the several lots and parcels of land -
<br />liable to be assessed for said improvement will beequal to the estimated cost of
<br />same a-s reported by the City Engineer. The Board, therefore, decides to take final
<br />i� action on said improvement Resolution No.2I92, and declares sare in all things ratified
<br />- l confirmed and approvedg without modification.

<br />The Board now orders that sealed proposals will be received, opened and
<br />�j read up to I0:00 A. M., on the 23rd. , ,day of April 2929 for the construction of said
<br />improvement on Chapin Street under Improvement Resolution NO.2I92. The Board further,
<br />orders that notices d said proposals shall be published oo the I2th. , day of April
<br />�I and on the I9th. , day of April 1929, in the South Bend News Times .and Tribune according
<br />to law.
<br />This being the date -set, hearing was had on Improvement Resolution wo.
<br />2I94 for the pavement of 26th., atreet from Mishawaka. Avenue to a point 394 feet
<br />south of the south line of Pleasant Street. (See files for copy of resolution..)
<br />In the above named improvement resolution, owner of lot 9 was present
<br />remonstrating against said improvement. Other property owners were present asking
<br />that this improvement be made. After hearing all persons interested in said improve-
<br />ment, and being fully advised in the premises the Board decides to modify said
<br />resolution. to read as follows: Twenty -Sixth ttreet from Mishawaka Avenue to a point
<br />348 feet south of the south line of Pleasant Street" With this modification, the..
