<br />Bids having been received for bhe 1R vement on Greenlawn Avenue from south
<br />line of YcKinley AveiVe to north line of Washington Avenge under Improvement Resolu-
<br />tion No.214I, the Board this 31st., day of October I928, hereby makes a preliminary
<br />erder for sheet asphalt heavy traffic pavement as the type of pavement with which
<br />said street shall be improved and sets the I3th., day of November 1928 as the time
<br />when said Board shall either pass of petitions for a change in the type of pavement
<br />other than,that specified in the preliminary orders, award the contract or reject
<br />all bids.
<br />Bids having been received for the grade, curb and walk improvement
<br />on Division, Ford Street and Kentucky Street under improvement Resolution No.2I48,
<br />the board this 3Ist., day of October 1928, hereby awards the contract for said
<br />improvement to Alex Bukowski at his low bid of 3,003.37.
<br />City Engineer, H. G. Wray, filed plans, specifications and estimates and
<br />the Board adopted said plans and specifications together with the following improve-
<br />ment resolutions:
<br />Improvement Resplution No.2I54 for the local sewer improvement in Bendix
<br />Drive from Washington Avenue to Ist., alley north of Division Street; also. in
<br />Jefferson Street from Bendix Drive to Liberty Street. (See files for copy of resolu
<br />Lion.)
<br />Improvement Resolution No.2I55 for the local sewer improvement in Elmwood
<br />Drive from Southwood Avenue to the center line of Lot 820 in Senn lde 4th.,
<br />Addition produced South; (See files for copy of resolution.)
<br />In both of the above named improvement resolutions, the Board hereby orders
<br />that on the 20th., day of November 1928 this Board meet in their office in the City i
<br />Hall at I0:00 A. 1%. to hear and receive remonstrances from all persons whose
<br />property is liable to be assessed for said improvements and will decide whether the
<br />several lots and parcels of land will be benefited in proportion to the estimated cosh'
<br />of same as reported by the City Engineer. The Boaald further orders that notices of
<br />said hearings shall be published on the 2nd., day of November and on the 9th.', day
<br />of November 1928, in the South Bend News Times and Tribune according to law.
<br />The Board approved an Excavation bond for George Strauss in the amount of.
<br />I,000.00 signed by the Fidelity and Deposit Company of l"aryland.
<br />This being the date set, hearings were had on the following assessment rolls;
<br />Assessment roll for the grade, curb and walk improvement on 36th., street
<br />from Jefferson Blvd., to Marshall Street under Improvement Resolution No.21I4.
<br />Assessment roll for the pavement of the Ist., alley north of LaSalle Avenue
<br />from Lafayette Street to First alley west under Improvement Resolution No.2I04.
<br />Assessment roll for the pavement of the Ist., alley north -of LaSalle Avenue
<br />from LaPorte Avenue to Cottage Grove Avenue under Improvement Resolution N.02II5.
<br />Assessment roll for the pavement of alley between Lot. I miller addition
<br />and Lot 8 Fuerj�ringer Addition from OaTc Street to Ist., alley sotu of Oak Street
<br />under Improvement Resolution No.2I47.
<br />In all of the above named assessment rollp, no-emonstra.tors appeared and
<br />no written remonstrance was filed and the Board, being fully advised in the premises
<br />finds that the several lots and parcels of land primarily assessed for said improve-
<br />ments have been benefited in the amounts named on said primary rolls. The Board,
<br />therefore, takces final action on said assessments and declares same in all things
<br />ratified, confirmed and approved without modification and the proceedings closed.
<br />The Board now orders said assessment rolls delivered to the Department of Finance.
<br />City' �hgineer, H. G. Wray, filed primary assessment roll for the pavement �
<br />on Greenlatwn Avenue f :rom Colfax Avenue to Sunnymede Avenue under Improvement
<br />Resolution No.2I34.
<br />In the above named assessment roll, the Board hereby orders that on the
<br />7th. day of November 1928, this Board will meet in their office in the City Hall
<br />at7-f5 P. fir., to hear and receive remonstrances from all persons whose property
<br />has been assessed for said improvement and will decide whether the several lots and.
<br />parcels of land have been or will be benefited in the amounts named on said primary
<br />assessment roll or in a greater or less sum than that named on said roll. The
<br />Board further orders that notices of said hearing shall be published on the 2nd.,
<br />day of November and on the 3rd., day of November 1928 in the South Bend News Times
<br />and Tribune according to law.
