Romig, the Board accepted and - • <br />appr oved the deed from 'Rhitcomb and Keller for a tract of land sixty feet in width <br />measured at right angles and Northerly of the following described line: Beginning <br />j at a point on the hest line of Greenlam Avenue 1233.3 feet north of the North line <br />of Mishawka Avenue as now located; thence westerly curbing to the North on a 7 degree <br />I' and 37minute curiae 189.5 feet (the tangent to, said curve makes a left angle with <br />I <br />Greenlavm Avenue - of 82 dbgr0a .and 45 minutes'); thence curving to the South on a I <br />degree curve 429.5 feet; thence curbing to the South on a 2 Degree an&srM minute <br />curge 528.5 feet • , thence ­ curving to the North on a 8 degree and 7 minute curve 107 <br />1' feet to the east line of Harriett Street, the west 400 feet of said tract is _to be 63 <br />feet wide instead of 60 feet wide, to be used. for highway purposes. That the Board of Public 'florks of the City of South Bend, Indiana <br />does hereby adopt the attached plans and specifications for lighting Chapin Street <br />from Washington Street to Ford Street, Miami Street from Lincoln Jay Wasi to Irving <br />Avenue, College Street from Erlwood Avenue to Keller Street and Angella Avenue from <br />Deeper Avenue to Notre Dame Avenue, all in the City of South Bend, Indiana, and the <br />Form of Contraek emboStying the same which the Board p providing a <br />proposes to enter into <br />satisfactory bid for said �! lighting is received. Copies of this resolution and of said plans and specifications shall be kept on file at the office of the Board for <br />i; <br />the use of bidders and other interested persons. <br />�! 2. That s eal.ed bids . or proposals for the furnishing of lamps and <br />light and the necessary maintenance of same for the lighting of Chapin O'treet from <br />Washington Street to Ford Street, Miami Street from Lincoln Way 'Ihst to Ewing Avenue, <br />College Street from Elwood Avenue to Keller Street and Angella Avenue from Leeper <br />.venue to Notre Dame Avenue, all in the City of South Bend, in accordance with plans <br />and specifications enclos6d.gin an envelope directed to the Board of Public Works of <br />the City of South Bend; _ Indiana, endorsed "Proposals for Public Lighting" with the name <br />of the person or coporation making the bid, will be received by the Foard of Public <br />Works when called:; for during the meeting of said Board of Public `forks to be held at <br />its meeting place in the City Building in the City of South Bend at the hour of I0:00 <br />O' Clock A. M. , on -the 30th. , day of October 1928, and immediately thereafter, at said <br />time and place and during said session of said Board of Public 'forks, all bids received <br />will be publicly opened and read and the awarding -of the contract, if awarded, will' <br />i 'be made by reso;ution of the Board of Public Works as soon thereafter as practicable. <br />All bids shall be upon the attached form prepared therefor by the Board of Public Works <br />I� or upon a form siibstantailly similiar thereto. The Board reserves the right to reject <br />any and all bids. <br />3. That each bidder shall file with the Board of Public Works of the <br />City of South Bend, with hid bid, an affidavit as required by law, stating that sue <br />it bidder has not directly or indirectly entered into any combination, collusion, under- <br />taking or <br />agreement with any other bidder to main the price of the service' or contract <br />herkin specified or to prevent any other bidder or bidders from bidding on such <br />service or contract; and that such bid is made without regard or reference to a#y other: <br />bid of bids and without any agreement, undertaking or combination either diredttly or <br />Indi- <br />rectly with any other <br />persons, firm or corroration with reference to such bidding <br />in any way or manner whatsoever. <br />4. That the said Board, on behalf of -the City, cause to be published <br />in the South Bend Tribune and the South Bend News Times, newspapers <br />of general eireu <br />lation printed and published in said City of South.Bend, a notice informing the public, <br />and contractors of the general nature of the proposed lighting and of the fact that <br />plans and specification therefor and the form of contract to be entered into with the u <br />successfuly bidder, and form of ordinance approving same, are on file in the office of ' ' <br />said Board of Public Works for the use of bidders and otherinterested persgms, and <br />that sealed proposals for such lamps and light and the maintenance t'.iereof in accordance <br />with plans and sneeifications =rill be Balled for and received during the meeting of <br />said Board of Public I -Yorks to be held in its office At the time and place above <br />fixed. Said notice shall be published in said newspapers once each week for two <br />successive weeks, the first publication to be at least ten days prior to the date fixed' <br />for receiv6ng bids.
