All members present. � <br />j Minutes of meetings held April 17th., and April I8th., 1928, read and <br />approved. <br />. j The Hoard approved the contractor's Bond ofI,00000 in favor of <br />Oliver Chilled Plow Yorks, signed by T. A. Freeman and A. A. Frederick as personal <br />sureties. <br />The Board approved the bond for excavation in the amount of I,000.00 <br />• in favor of Veto Morino signed by the 6onstitution Indemnity Company of Philadelphia. <br />• <br />0 <br />The Board approved the renewal certffi.cate for the excavation bond �{ <br />in fa vnr of Distler Plumbing,, and ideating o., signed by the Aetna Casualty and Surety <br />Co. l <br />i <br />City engineer, H. G. Wray, submitted the following reports 'on written , <br />remonstrances recently filed against improvements: Sai reports were approved by Board.!! <br />"With the return of the attached remonstrance against the paving of the <br />first alley west of Sherman Avenue from Oak street to Lincoln 'Alay +hest, I sutn'oit the <br />,I <br />following report: <br />There are 48 resid=nt property o,rners residing -on this alley, 13 of <br />whom have signed the remonstrance. This does not constitute a majority and I would, <br />therefore, -recommend that this improvement be advertisied for bids. <br />Very truly :yours, <br />H. G. 'Ura,r, dity bivil :]hgineer. " <br />"With the return of the attached remonstrance against the improvement c <br />Thirty-sixth Street from Mishawaka Avenue to North Side Boulevard, 1 respectfully <br />submit the following report: <br />There are 30 resident property holders residing on this improvement, <br />13 of whom have signed the remonstrance. This does not constitute a majority and T <br />would therefore recommend that this improvement be advertised for bids. <br />Very truly yours <br />H. G. (fray, Oity Civil 14n.gineer. rr <br />"With the return of the attached remonstrance against the improvement <br />on Thirtieth Street from Mishawaka avenue to North Side Boulevard, I submit herewith t] <br />following report: <br />There are 37 resident property holders .residing on this improvement, <br />I5 of whom have signed the remonstrance. This does not constitute• a majority and I <br />would therefore, recommend that this improvement be advertised forbids. <br />Very truly yours, <br />H. G. `:tray, City Oivii Engineer." <br />The Board, hereby, orders that on the 8th., day of May, 1928, this <br />Board will receive, open and consider sealed proposals for the construction of the <br />following improvements: <br />Pavement on 36th. , `'treet from i ishawa] revenue to North Side Boulev <br />under Improvement Resolution No.2014. <br />Pavement- on 30th. , Street from Mishawaka Avenue to North Side Boulev <br />under Improvement Resolution No.20I3. <br />Pavement of the alley west of Sherman Avenue from Oak Street to <br />Lincoln Way 'iyest under Improvement Resolution No.20I5. <br />The Board .further orders that notices of said proposals for the <br />above named improvements shall be published on the 27th. , day of April and on the 4th. <br />day of May, 1928, in the South Bend Nevis Times and tribune according t.o law. <br />The Board signed the following contracts and approved the const:t-Matien <br />bonds as follows; <br />
