<br />Haney Street on Thursday, August 22, 1957 from 6 P.M. to 10P.M. for a Watermelon Feast. Permission granted.
<br />The Board now approves the installation of traffic signals at the intersection of Logan Street and Jeffer-
<br />son Blvd. Traffic Engineer, Ernest H. Miller, reported that the installation will be a joint project be-
<br />tween the City of Mishawaka, Indiana the City of South Bend, Indiana since this intersection is at the
<br />dividing line of the two cities. He also reports that work will begin this week.
<br />Traffic signs were installed as follows:
<br />Stop Signs on Sibley Street, both sides, at Brookfield Street
<br />Stop Signs on Bulla Street, both sides, at Adams Street.

<br />At the August 12 meeting of the Council the following matter was referred to the Board for appropriate
<br />disposal and specific action: Councilman Tellson made a motion that the Board of PublicWorks and Safety
<br />make an investigation of street names within the City of South Bend. Matter referred to the Traffic Engi
<br />neer for investigation and report.
<br />The Board hereby notes and accepts the filing of a petition of the Bowman Cemetery Association of St. Jo-
<br />seph County by Jack Hildebrand, President and Cecil D. Walz, Secretary wherein said Association petitions;
<br />the City of South Bend to accept the transfer of said cemetery pursuant to Acts of the State of Indiana
<br />1933, Chapter 849 Section 1, Page 554 (Burns Indiana Statutes, Section 48-6017, 1950 Replacement). The
<br />Clerk of the Board is hereby ordered to advertise of public hearing on the 9th day of September, 1957 in
<br />the South Bend Tribune and The Record on 2 occasions to be on the 23rd and 30th days of August, 1957.

<br />After hearing allpersons interested who appeared being fully advised on the premises and the Clerk of the
<br />"'Board having shown proofs of publication of the notices to property owners and the same having been f6und
<br />sufficient, the Board decides that the benefits to the property liable to be assessed for said improvement
<br />are equal to the estimated cost of the same as reported by the City Civil Engineer, therefore,
<br />BE IT RESOLVED, By the Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of South Bend, Indiana, that Improve- l
<br />ment Resolution No. 2854, 1957, duly passed by the Board on July 15, 1957, for the above improvement, be
<br />,and the same is hereby in all things confirmed for the construction of a permanent type pavement from Brook::
<br />field Street to College Street and the improvement is hereby ordered to be made.

<br />No written remonstrance or remonstrances against said improvememtn bearing the signatures of fifty-one (51)
<br />per cent or more of the re§ldent property owrers on said street to be improvement, having been filed within
<br />the ten (10) day period following the date and time of the hearing on said Improvement, therefore,
<br />BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of South Bend, Indiana, that improve-
<br />ment Resolution No. 2854, 1957, duly adopted by this Board on July 15, 19579 and first confirmed on August
<br />199 1957, be and the same is in all things finally confirmed and the improvement is hereby ordered made.
