5�4 <br />to Pershing Street by the construction of Sanitary Sewer and Street Improvement according to law. Petition <br />referred to City Engineering Department. <br />i <br />A petition was received from Tri-Way Builders to improve Huey Street from Bergan Street to Pershing Street <br />by the construction of Sanitary Sewer according to Barrett Law Plan and is hereby referred to the City <br />Engineering Department for investigation. <br />The site plans for the Broadmoor Shopping Center is hereby approved by the Board this 4th day of February,'; <br />1957. <br />February 12, Lincoln's birthday, is hereby a legal holiday according the statutes of the General Assembly 11 <br />of Indiana and therefore the City Hall will be closed on said day. <br />The contract for painting the City Hall is hereby awarded to the following bidder: Painting to begin immed <br />iately. <br />I. W. LOWER COMPANY A non -collusion affidavit and a bidder's <br />428 North Michigan St. bond in the amount of $3771.00 accompanied <br />South Bend, Indiana the bid. <br />Total net price------------------$3771.00 <br />The time now being after 10:00 A.M. (CST) it was so announced and the bids for the following departments • <br />were opened: Proofs of publication were submitted to the Board and found sufficient. Affidavits from <br />the South Bend Tribune signed by C. G. livengood and from the Record signed by W. DeCanio were approved. <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT <br />Freeman -Spicer Company A non -collusion affidavit and a certified <br />520 South Lafayette St. check in the amount of $340.00 accompanied <br />South Bend, Indiana the bid. <br />2 1957 Studebaker Champion Custom 2-door sedans <br />Total price ------------- $3390.00 • <br />;CITY PLANNING COMMISSION <br />L. 0. Gates Chevrolet Corp. A non -collusion affidavit and a certifed <br />333 Western Avenue check in the amount of $150.00 accompanied they <br />South Bend, Indiana bid. <br />1 Used 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air series <br />Total price------------ $1500.00 <br />The abovementioned bids were taken under advisement and the Board hereby awards to said companys both bids. <br />Easement - Part of Lot "A" in the revised Plat of Broadmoor, Third Section, an Addition to the City of Sout <br />Bend, Indiana is hereby approved by the Board this 4th day of February, 1957. Said easement is hereby re- <br />corded in Record No. Page No. in the office of the County Recorder. Placed on file in the office <br />of Board of Public Works & Safety. <br />VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 2849, 1957 <br />.This being the date set, hearing was held on the Resolution heretofore adopted by the Board of Public Work <br />and Safety for the vacation of BELLEVILLE CENTER STREET FROM THE NORTH LINE OF WESTERN AVENUE TO THE SOUTH <br />,LINE OF WASHINGTON STREET, under Vacation Resolution No. 2849, 1957. <br />The Clerk of the Board having shown sufficient proofs of publication and no remonstrators having appeared <br />before the Board and no written remonstrances having been filed with the Clerk, it was moved, seconded and <br />unanimously carried that the said Resolution be finally adopted and said stree�be vacated. <br />The Engineering Department is directed to prepare an assessment roll showing the assessment of benefits am <br />jthe award of damages to the surrounding properties. <br />R. S. Andrysiak, City Engineer, filed primary assessment roll showing the awards of damages and assessment ) <br />of benefits in the matter of the vacation of the BELLEVILLE CENTER STREET FROM THE NORTH LINE OF WESTERN <br />AVENUE TO THE SOUTH LINE OF WASHINGTON STREET, under Vacation Resolution No. 2849, 1957. <br />In the above named assessment roll, the Board hereby orders that it will meet in the City Hall at 10:00 A.M'1 <br />(CST) on the llth day of March, 1957 for the purpose of hearing and receiving remonstrances from all persons <br />interested in or affected by said vacation and the Board further orders that notice of said hearing togethef <br />with'the amount of damages awarded and benefits assessed be addressed to the property owners by publishing 1� <br />same on the 15th dayU,of February, 22nd day of February, and the 1st day of March, 1957 in the South Bend <br />Tribune and The Record. <br />The following property may be injuriously or beneficially affected by such vacation: <br />UNPLATTED LAND TO THE WEST OWNED BY BELLEVILLE INVESTMENT COMPANY <br />AND <br />BLOCK "C" PLAT OF GARDEN VILLAGE 3RD UNIT i <br />Total net benefits 00.00 <br />Total net damages 00.00 <br />
