504 <br />Improvement Resolution No. 2843 <br />City Civil Engineer's Recommendation <br />Referring to the petition of Daryl E. Lancaster and 12 others for the improvement of Oak - <br />crest Drive from 35th Street to Sylvan Glen & Sylvan Glen from Oakcrest Drive to McKinley Avenue by con- <br />structing a local combined sewer with all appurtenences the City Civil Engineer recommends that the petiti <br />be granted. <br />Improvement Resolution No. 2843 <br />The above named improvement resolution, the petition is hereby referred to the Engineer <br />and also the order to Engineer For Preliminary Plans was filed with the Board. <br />10:35 A.M. (DST). <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting was adjourned at <br />AUGUST 69 1956 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was held on Monday, August 6, 1956 at 10:00 A.M. Reinke & Sons, Inc., Taylor Construction Company, Ansel <br />E. Anderson, and P. L. Wilson. <br />A letter was received from the City Planning Commission recommending the vacation of part of the n <br />Bout: alley between Pine and Chapin Streets, south of Monroe Street and north of the New York Central ri <br />of -way. Referred to the City Engineering Department for preparation of a vacation resolution. <br />The Clerk of the Board was directed to contact Traffic Engineer about Barbie, Teri, & Fellow Street <br />for traffic signs. <br />Stop signs were installed on northeast corner of Colfax Avenue at Ironwood St., on northeast corner <br />of Broadway at Ironwood Drive, on 31st Street, both sides, at Wall Street, and the sign on southwest corn <br />of Dubail at Brookfield Street replaced with a Yield Right -Way. Also Yield Right/Way on Dubail Street, b <br />sides, at Jackson Street was installed. <br />No Parking From 6:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. Monday through Saturday signs installed on Longfellow Street <br />from the alley to Mishawaka Avenue. <br />A letter from the Civil Defense Department was received and placed on file. <br />Mr. Mitchelen appeared before the Board with reference to moving a house in a vacant lot at 3510 S. <br />Michigan Street -Messrs. Fred Walters, 3606 South Michigan; M. C. Claywell, 3502 South Michigan Street; <br />M. F. Jamison, 3506 South Michigan; and Andrew Kuzmich, 3518 South Michigan Street property owners of the <br />adjacent lots appeared before the Board with referencb to opposing the moving of said building.
