Minutes of the previous regular meeting were read and approved. Th. <br />!Street Department was notified and the Clerk of the Board was directed to notify the Traffic Engineer. <br />Mr. Jacob Mitchelen appeared before the Board requesting permission to move a house from 2327 South' <br />Michigan to 3501 South Michigan. Four properties' frontages are concerned. Mr. Lane, Building Commissioner, <br />was directed to notify the affected property owners and the matter would then be brought before the Board <br />at the August 6th meeting of the Board. <br />i <br />An excavation bond for Nelda R. Keller d/b/a Ralph Keller was approved and accepted. <br />i A contract between the City of South Bend, Indiana and Clyde E. Williams & Associates for the im- <br />provement of the west half of North Shore Drive at Angela was approved. <br />I <br />A Certificate of Insurance for the Rieth-Riley Construction Company was examined and ordered filed.;! <br />i <br />The dedication of Chalfant Street between Jacob Street and Twyckenham Drive for street purposes was <br />l <br />accepted by the Board and the Dedication ordered recorded. <br />Mr. Muia appeared beforeBoard askingpermission to build a pedestrian walk around the building on <br />the northeast corner of Michigan and Sample Streets. Permission was granted for the pedestrian walk sub- <br />ject to a plan being set up by the Traffic Engineer. <br />Numerous complaints have been registered with the Board on the weeds growing over the walks in Mag <br />�Igies Court. The Clerk of the Board was directed to send a, -letter to William E. Voor; 620 Associates Bldg. <br />i <br />The deed for the following property was ordered recorded: Lot Numbered 250 as shown on the record <br />fled plat of the Ridgedale 5th Addition to the City of South Bend, Indiana. <br />Numerous complaints have been registered with the Board that the sidewalks surrounding the City <br />;;Cemetery are in need of repairs. Clerk of the Board was ordered to investigate and take necessary action. <br />The Board received a directive from the City Council concerning the condition surrounding Pierre <br />Nevarre Park. The City Engineer was directed to make a drawing of the area showing the county and city <br />limits. <br />1 4 <br />Mrs. Sosnoski requested permission to have the 100, 200, and 300 blocks of 34th Street closed from <br />• "6 to 12 P.M. on Saturday, August 11, 1956 for a Street party. Permission granted. <br />I. <br />n i <br />J; Mr. Boehm of the Recreation Department of the Park Department requested permission to close River- <br />iside Drive between Michigan and Lafayette Streets on the evening of August 9, 1956 for a street dance. Per - <br />emission granted subject to notifying the Police and Traffic Departments. <br />The Board read a letter from the City Council regarding the condition of the blocking of the Sampler <br />;Street -Olive Street crossing for long periods. The City Engineer directed to contact all railroad companies <br />involved and set a date for a meeting and to give this date to the President of the Council along with Trans- <br />I!portation Committee of the Council. <br />I <br />The contracts for the Sibley Street improvement Resolution No. 2836 were signed. <br />I! Improvement Resolution No. 2834 <br />The Estimate of Cost for construction of a local combined sewer on Meade Street from Elwood Avenue <br />!to Bulla Street was approved and ordered filed. <br />Also, the Notice of Property Owners was filed and advertised.
