Accepted and approved. <br />Contract or's bonds were approved for Robert B. Klimek, From Building Company, and Rieth-Rile <br />Construction Company. <br />Excavation Bonds were approved for Marion M. Hamilton & Sons, and Reed Construction Company. <br />Stop signs were installed on Ridgedale Avenue, south west corner, at Miami Street, Robinson <br />Street, both sides at Donald Street, 29th Street, both sides, at Hastings Street, Vernon Street, both si <br />at Fox Street, and on Ford at Gladstone, both sides, making this a 4-Way Stop. <br />A petition was received asking for the vacation of the East-West alley on the west side of <br />Franklin Street between Stull and Broadway. Petition referred to the City Planning Commission for further <br />investigation and recommendation. <br />A petition was received asking for the vacation of Brookfield Street from the north line of <br />Indiana Avenue to the south line of the first east -west alley north of Indiana Avenue. Petition referred <br />to the City Planning Commission for further investigation and recommendation. <br />The bids for the Sibley Street Improvement was awarded to McIntyre & Jones Construction Compail <br />ny, <br />1121 South Main Street, South Bend, Indiana. The bid reads as follows: i <br />Total bid price, extension of Items 1-1 and 2-1 Plus Items 3 to 7............ $50223.50 <br />IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION NO. 2836 <br />WHEREAS, The Board of Public Works and Safety pursuant to its notice to do so, met on the 9th <br />day of July, 1956, at the hour of 9:00 A.M. (CST) and publicly opened and considered all bids for the im- <br />provement of Sibley Avenue from the West property line of College Street to the East property line of Broo <br />field Street -'-by constructing a Class "C" pavement (Types 1 to 4) in accordance with Improvement Resolution <br />No. 2836, 1956, passed by this Board on May 21, 19569 and confirmed by this Board on June 25, 1956, there- <br />fore BE IT RESOLVED: That the Street be paved with Class "C" Type 1 (6" concrete pavement). <br />R. Smith <br />VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 280 <br />RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA: That it is desirabl <br />to vacate the following: <br />THE FIRST ALLEY NORTH OF ELWOOD AVENUE FROM ILLINOIS STREET TO CHICAGO STREET. <br />The following property may be injuriously or beneficially affected by such vacation: <br />Lot Number 1, Chicago Plaza Addition also Lot Number 9, Replat of Lots 9 to 18 inclusive, Chi <br />cago Plaza Addition and Lots Numbered 33 and 349 Part of Lincoln Plaza Addition. <br />Notice of this resolution shall be published on the 20th day of July, and on the 27th day of <br />July, 1956 in the So6th Bend Tribune and The Record. <br />This Board, at its office in the City Hall on the 6th day of August, 1956 at 10:00 A.M.
