433 • 0 • • 0 CJ IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION NO. 2836 PLANS & SPECIFICATIONS ADOPTED BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS & SAFETY OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, THAT the I Profiles, Drawings, Plans, General Details, Specifications and estimates approved by this Board on the 21st day of May, 1956, for the improvement of Sibley Avenue from the lest property line of College Street to the East property line of Brookfield Street by constructing a Class "C" pavement (type 1 to 4) by and the same are hereby adopted and ordered placed on file in the office of the Department of Public Works & Safety. July 9, 1956, at the hour of 9:00 A.M. (CST) is hereby fixed as the time and the Office of the Board' of Public Works & Safety in the City Hall of this City, as the Place, when and where the Board of Public Works and Safety will open and consider bids for the above named improvements, provided all bids for the j construction of said work shall be filed in the Office of the Clerk of this Board before 10:00 A.M.'(DST) 1 of said day. Each bidder for said work shall enclose with his bid a certified check, cashier's check in the sum of five (5%) per cent of the amount of his bid, to insure the execution of this contract, if said work is awarded to him. The Clerk of this Board is hereby ordered to give notice by two (2) weekly publications of the timel and place, when and where bids will be received, opened and considered for the constructionof said work. 11 Said Clerk shall state in said notices, that each bidder shall enclose with his bid a certified check, cad- ier's check or for above named amount, to insure the execution of this contract. Sabo, Clerk IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION NO. 2838 Entry of Petition Presented The Board of Public Works and Safety hereby received and placed on file the Petition of George W. Vercolio and 2 others for the improvement of Huron Street from Arnold Street to Webster Street by con- structing a local combined sewer. PETITION REFERRED TO ENGINEER The Petition of George W. Vercolio and 2 others for the improvement of Huron Street from Arnold St. to Webster Street by constructing a local combined sewer is referred to the City Engineer for investigatic and recommendation at the next regular meeting of this Board. Vercolio and 2 others for the improvement of Huron Street from Arnold Street to Webster Street by constructing a local combined sewer, the City Civil Engineer recommends that the Petition be granted. R. S. Andrysiak City Civil Engineer ORDER TO ENGINEER FOR PRELIMINARY PLANS According to the recommendation of the City Civil Engineer concerning the petition of George W. Ver colio and 2 others for the improvement of Huron Street from Arnold Street to Webster Street, Chas. W. Cole & Son is hereby directed to prepare Plans, Drawings, Profiles, General Details, Specifications, Estimates and the Preliminary Improvement Resolution for improving such part of said streets by constructing a local combined sewer. R. S. Andrysiak Frank J. Bruggner Irving J. Smith The final estimate for payment to Rieth-Riley Construction Company, Inc. the total amount of S38,4. was submitted to the Board. The bids for the Street Department were now opened and examined. Proof of publication in the Sout Bend Tribune with an affidavit signed by C. G. Livengood and in the Record with an affidavit signed W. De Canio on the 15th and 22nd days of June, 1956 was submitted to the Board. The bids read as follows: .53
