W_ VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 2828 This being the date set, hearing was held on the assessment roll showing the award of damages and the assessment of benefits in the matter of the vacation of Johnson Street from THE NORTH LINE OF WASHING - TON AVENUE TO THE SOUTH LINE OF ORANGE STREET, under Vacation Resolution No. 2828. j In the above named assessment roll, no remonstrators appeared and no written remonstrances were fil • IThe Clerk of the Board submitted proofs of publication of notices and same were found sufficient, and the �Board therefore finds that the alley has been benefited and damaged in the amounts shown on said roll. The !Board, therefore decided -to take final action on said assessment roll and declares same in all things rati- fied, confirmed, and approved without modification and the proceedings closed, and the alley vacated upon ;receipt of the amount of benefit assessments from the various property owners so benefited and all proceed- :ings had with reference to said vacation are hereby sustained. • U 1�1 • • There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting was adjourned at 10:55 A.M. s I i i i !Attest: - ^r� Anthony J. a , lerk J UNE 25, 1956 A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was held on Monday, June 25, 1956 at 10:00 A.M. (DST) All members were present. Minutes of the previous regular meeting were read and approved. Salary claims in the total amount of $34,297.62 were approved. Hartman, Carl H. McClellan, A. J. Blaski, Howard V. ack, Mike Becchelli, H. G. Christman Construction Company, Hartman Builders, and Edward Burton. Excavation bonds were approved for Hartman Builders, Inc., Rieth-Riley Construction Company, O.E. Er Son, and Millard T. Hartman. The request of Messrs. Cecil Walters and Earl Wright to operate a small automobile run by batteries nd driven by children on the park -way adjacent to the Electric Company on S. Michigan is hereby denied by he Board. Mr. Harding appeared before the Board with reference to request permission to install an awning on a uilding at 2221 South Michigan Street and informed the Board that he would follow specifications as stated n the Building Code of the City of South Bend, Indiana. The Board now authorizes be granted a permit by he Building Commissioner, Verner L. Lane. i The awarding of the contract for the bids of the Civil Defense Department for the purchase of 5 desk type base stations will be held up until Next Monday, July 2, 1956. Mr. Frank Adams i5 hereby given permission to make application for Building permits providing that onforms with all qualifications as set out in the Municipal Code of the City of South Bend, Indiana. The uilding Commissioner, Verner L. Lane, is hereby ordered to issue said permit with the understanding that aid Adams follow all specifications. The decision on the Miami Street lighting plan will be held up until further notice. The Work Order for repair of the sewer on 29th Street was approved and placed on file. IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION NO. 2816, 1955 The Contractor's Completion affidavit and the Engineer's Certificate of Completion on the Pavement ovement on Fremont Street from the North property line of Elwood Avenue to the South property line of er Street, under Improvemebt Resolution No. 2816, 1955 was accepted and approved by the Board.
