lo Ernest H. Miller, Traffic Engineer, appeared before the Board with reference to request permission to attend the National Safety Conference to be held in Chicago on the 23rd and 24th days of May, 1956. Perk ;mission granted. Ideal Baldoni appeared before the Board with reference to the repairing of Fellow Street between Altgeld and Woodside Streets. 1 Mr. Fred Hotop of White and Company to change the date of the installation of the cooler on the I'Associates Building from Mondayf May 21 until the date of the arrival of said cooler. Time limitation to remain the same from 7:30 A.M. till 5:00 P.M. Permission granted subject to notifying the Fire and Police ,Department. The time now being 10:30 A.M. (DST) it was so announced and the bids for the Olive Street improve ment from Western Avenue to Washington Street were opened. Proof of publication in the South Bend Tribune signed with an affidavit by C. G. Livengood and the Record with an affidavit signed by W. DeCanio on the llth day of May and on the 18th day of May, 1956 was submitted to the Board. The bids read as follows: REED CONSTRUCTION COMPANY 202 2 NORTH MAIN STREET MISHAWAKA, INDIANA A non -collusion affidavit and a bidder's bond in the amount of $ 3276.48 accompanied the bid. Form 96-A of said Company is on file wi the Board. TOTAL BID PRICE ............................. $659529.78 RIETH-RILEY CONSTRUCTION COMPANY 1145 PRAIRIE AVENUE SOUTH BEND, INDIANA A non -collusion affidavit and a bid- der's bond in the amount of 13100.00� accompanied the bid. form 96-A of said company is on file with the Board. TOTAL BID PRICE ............................. $619391.20 The bids were taken under advisement by the Board and award of contract will be made at the next !regular meeting of the Board on Monday, May 28, 1956. VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 2828 With reference to the above named Vacation assessment roll which was previously filed with the Board by R. S. Andrysiak, City Engineer, the Board hereby orders that it will meet in the City Hall at 10:00 A.M. (DST) on the 18th day of June, 1956 for the purpose of hearing and receiving remonstrances from all persons interested in or affected by said vacation and the Board further orders that notice of said hearing, together with the amount of damages awarded and benefits assessed be addressed to the prop- erty owners by publishing same on the 25th day of May, 1st day of June, and the 8th day of June, 1956 in the South Bend Tribune and The Record. ment.
