Anderson. <br />I <br />A letter was received <br />from the City Plan <br />Commission recommending the <br />vacation of an alley connect- <br />ed with Johnson Street and it <br />was referred to the <br />Engineering Department for <br />further investigantion and <br />report. <br />A letter was received from the City Plan Commission recommending the vacation of a north -south <br />alley between Lots 97 and 98 in Lincoln Manor Addition from the south right of way of Bonds Avenue south <br />to the north line of the east -west alley of said lots, said alley lying south of Bonds Avenue between <br />Meade Street and Eclipse Place and it was referred to the City Engineering Department for further investi <br />gation and report. <br />On delivery of the deed with reference to the real estate owned by the Indiana & Michigan Electric <br />Company in connection with the Sewage Treatment Plant, the Controller is hereby directed to pay to the <br />Indiana & Michigan Electric Company the sum.of $1000. <br />contractor's bonds in the sum of $1000 were approved for Arthur B. Strasser and Hilton Construc- <br />tion Company. <br />Excavation bonds were approved for James A. Currie and Hilton Construction Company. <br />The bond of the Indiana Bell Telephone Company with the City of South Bend, Indiana was approved <br />and accepted by the Board. <br />Mr. Virgil D. Woodworth, Chaplain representing the V.f. W. requested permission to hold their an- <br />nual poppq day sale on May 18 and May 19, 1956. Permission granted, same being to all post of the V.F.W. <br />The Avalon Grotto requested permission to hold a house to house paper drive for the benefit of • <br />the Crippled Children s Hospital on May 19, 1956. Permission granted. <br />Stop Signs were installed at the following locations: <br />Dubail,.both sides, at Brookfield street. <br />Dubail, both sides, at Nash street. <br />Dubail, both sides, at Walnut Street. <br />A petition was received asking for the vacation of an alley extending from North Chicago Street <br />East to North Illinois Street. Referred to the City Planning Commission for investigation and recommend- <br />ation. <br />VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 2832 i <br />R. S. Andrysiak, City Engineer, filed primary assessment roll showing the awards of damages and <br />the assessment of benefits in the matter of the vacation of the ALLEY WEST OF OLIVE STREET FROM LINCOLN- <br />WAY WEST, SOUTH TO THE NORTH LINE OF THE ALLEY SOUTH OF LINCOLNWAY WEST under Resolution No. 2832. <br />In the above named assessment roll, the Board hereby orders that it will meet in the City Hall <br />at 10:00 A.M. (DST) on the llth day of June, 1956 for the purpose of hearing and receiving remonstrances <br />from all persons interested in or affected by said vacation and the Board further orders that notice of <br />said hearing, together with the amount of damages awarded and benefits assessed be addressed to the prop- <br />erty owners by publishing same on the 18th day of May, 25th day of May and the 1st day of June, 1956, in <br />the South Bend Tribune and The Record. <br />The following property may be injuriously or beneficially affected by -such vacation: <br />Lot numbered 1 in Kaley's Lincoln Highway Addition and all property East of said alley <br />from Lincolnway West to Bonds Avenue owned by Epworth Memorial Methodist Church. <br />
